Hello and welcome to MindWell Counseling, LLC! My name is Katie Crow (she/her), LISW-S, LCSW and I am the owner of MindWell Counseling, LLC. I am a licensed clinical mental health therapist and hold my Masters degree in Social Work from The University of Akron. I originally began my career in the corporate HR world and after 10 years decided I wasn’t following my true passion. My passion is working with adults who are on a journey of self-growth. I started MindWell Counseling, LLC in 2022 because life has been more difficult over the past few years, and wanted to provide a safe, non-judgmental space to express your thoughts, feelings and to be yourself. I believe each person can heal and my role is to provide you with support, feedback, education, and therapeutic interventions so you can. I utilize a collaborative and strengths-based approach to counseling and provide a warm, empathetic and compassionate environment (and maybe a little humor). Reaching out for counseling is courageous and the first step in the healing process. Whether this is your first time or your 100th time in therapy, my objective is for you to achieve your goals. I look forward to being a part of your path to healing!

I understand that sometimes life can be challenging and can hinder personal growth, happiness, relationships, quality of life, professional success, parenting among other things. You feel like you are spinning your wheels but not going anywhere. You feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, apathetic, sad and/or irritated. You may be surprised to know that there are ways to cope with these feelings so you can grab the reigns and get back on that horse! You want to create meaningful changes but aren’t sure where to start. I believe that the catalyst to that change exists within each of us, sometimes we need a little help to find it. I have experience working with older adults, adults, (teens 17+), veterans, active-duty military and their families, college students, EMS personnel, and caregivers in the treatment of mental health and life transition issues, marital issues, interpersonal issues, deployment, military separation, reunification, divorce, pregnancy, work and school issues, parenting and end of life issues (grief/placement). I can also provide case-management services, life coaching and ESA evaluations/letters.

Hi, my name is Jennifer Cervantes and I am a compassionate and dedicated therapist specializing in working with adolescents. With a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by teenagers, I aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space where they can freely express their thoughts and emotions. My approach to therapy is collaborative and client-centered, allowing each adolescent to actively participate in their own healing process. I strive to build a strong therapeutic alliance with my clients, fostering trust and open communication. By doing so, I believe we can work together to develop effective coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and navigate the complexities of adolescence. Through evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, I help adolescents manage and overcome various issues including anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, school-related stress, peer pressure, and family conflicts. I also recognize the importance of addressing broader systemic factors that may impact an adolescent's life, and I integrate a multicultural and social justice perspective into my practice. As a therapist, I am committed to remaining up-to-date on the latest research and incorporating innovative approaches into my work. I believe in the power of ongoing professional development, attending trainings and workshops to continuously enhance my skills and knowledge. Whether your teenager is struggling with academic pressures, emotional challenges, or other difficulties, my goal is to support them in developing healthy coping strategies, fostering resilience, and achieving personal growth. Together, we can navigate the path towards healing and empowerment. I welcome you to take the next step towards supporting your adolescent's mental health by reaching out. Let's work together to help them thrive during this pivotal stage of their lives.

My name is Richard Spires. I believe in the therapeutic alliance. Counseling is a team effort and we get the best results when we work together. Part of my counseling style is that I take time getting to know you and try to truly understand your issues. I have been to counseling myself and had experiences where I felt the therapist was not trying to understand my problems. I told myself that when I become a counselor, I never want any of my patients to feel like I didn't care. So I take pride in getting to know you and understanding your problems. So whenever you're ready to talk, I'm ready to listen.

I was in the United States Marine Corps from 1998-2003 and during this time I learned a great deal about myself and became more culturally diverse. During my third year of service, I was injured at Officers Candidate School and realized that I needed to develop my counseling skills, so I worked with an agency that counseled teens regarding their addiction. I have been in the social services field for the past twenty years and have been licensed for the past 10 years. When I got out of the Marines in 2003, I went home to North Carolina and my father passed away three days later unexpectedly so, I needed a job and I was able to use my previous years working with teens and became a supervisor at Sipes Orchard Home took in unwanted children from parents, Level II and Level IV agencies, and the Department of Children and Families. After being here at this facility for two years I left as they weren't following the Medicaid standards. I left the agency and went to work for The Cognitive Connection as the Prevention Supervisor providing preventive services for teens and was part of the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) providing groups to adults. I worked with Cognitive Connection for three years and left to go to Pensacola, Florida because I had heard they were starting a MSW program. I felt hopeful as I knew getting my master’s in social work would change my life forever. After I finished the MSW program I immediately started working for Lakeview Services in Adult Outpatient Community Mental Health and then worked in the Drug Court program. I stayed here for three years until I got a job with the DoD in Oklahoma because my wife was trying to get a federal job, so I moved to support her and my family. While working with the DoD I was able to get my supervision for licensing, created an anger management program for the DoD, and stayed until my LCSW license was finalized in December of 2013. When I came back to Florida I worked for Volunteers of America for a couple of years until a federal job opened at Veterans Affairs in Pensacola, FL, in August of 2016. I have been licensed in Florida for the past 10 years, recently became licensed in Texas and Oklahoma. I have some clients who are in therapy with me for several weeks to several months depending on their individual needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started!
