Hi! I'm Dena (she/her). I have 15 years experience and truly love my vocation! I enjoy empowering individuals to achieve their goals and live their best lives. I believe everyone has the ability to heal, sometimes we all need a little help. I am passionate about the power of therapy to aid people in living their best, most authentic lives. I live on the tristate border and provide remote therapy for persons in Illinois and Iowa. An Iowa native, I spent about a decade living and working in SoCal and Phoenix before returning to the Midwest to be with my (now) husband and step kids. Yes, I left sunny San Diego, in December, for the snowy Midwest! The things we’ll do for love! I have personally benefitted greatly from therapy. I am Bi/queer, have ADHD, and several physical disabilities, all of which were diagnosed after college. Therapy helped me develop much needed coping skills so I could be successful in grad school and beyond. Therapy also helped me with the intense stressors related to being a young professional during the Great Recession. I continue to utilize therapy as part of my self care routine. If you are coping with symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self worth, or concerns related to ADHD or chronic health conditions, I would love the opportunity to work with you. I would love to help you to achieve a present no longer overshadowed by past traumas, negative self talk, or uncontrolled anxiety.

Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Illinois. I have worked in the mental health field for seventeen years in both hospital and outpatient settings. This experience includes work in direct patient care, program development, and in hospital administration in a clinical director role. I also have taught coursework in psychology and human development in a university setting, and worked in an administrative capacity in secondary education in the state of Illinois. My educational background includes a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. My clinical approach brings behavioral intervention and education together in a clinical setting. I enjoy using psychoeducation as a foundation for treatment. That means I like to focus on educating the patient on their symptoms/diagnosis so we can collaborate on a treatment plan that they understand and makes sense for their life circumstance. If people understand why they experience the symptoms they have and how their body responds to stressors; it can give them the insight necessary to build skills to cope in a healthy and effective way.

Hello, and welcome! I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable talking openly with someone who listens, understands what matters to you, and helps you find a way forward. My style is conversational, warm, and collaborative. As a licensed psychotherapist with experience in therapy and corporate coaching, I help people feel less overwhelmed and more grounded, confident, and clear about what comes next. Are you dealing with stress, anxiety, or a life change? You may be functioning on the outside while feeling exhausted or overwhelmed inside. We’ll talk about what is happening, identify what is weighing on you, and develop ways to help you feel calmer and more in control. I also work with neurodivergent adults, including adults with ADHD, and understand that strategies need to fit your life—not the other way around. Is work becoming a source of stress or burnout? My doctorate in organizational leadership and years of corporate coaching give me a unique perspective on workplace challenges. I help professionals navigate difficult relationships, career transitions, workplace stress, decision-making, communication, and questions about what they want next. Perhaps you feel stuck. You may know something needs to change but aren’t sure where to begin. Therapy can be a place to sort things out, understand patterns, build healthier habits, and reconnect with the person you want to be. Clients often tell me they appreciate being heard while also leaving sessions with something useful to think about or try. I believe therapy should provide insight, but it should also help you make changes in everyday life. I offer daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. You’re welcome to book. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.

If you have seen the movie “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray as Phil, you would say it is a comedy. But it is more. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who provides thoughtful, collaborative psychotherapy for adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress, and patterns that may leave them feeling stuck or disconnected from themselves. My clinical approach is grounded in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I believe therapy should create space not only to address what you are feeling, but also to understand what may be happening beneath the surface. I help clients explore how past relationships, experiences, beliefs, and emotional patterns may influence the way they think, feel, relate, and respond in the present. While symptom relief matters, I do not believe therapy should focus on symptoms alone. I work with clients to understand the meaning behind their experiences while also using practical CBT strategies to identify unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier responses, and strengthen coping skills. My therapeutic style is conversational, reflective, supportive, and insight-oriented. Sessions provide space to slow down, think openly, make connections, and better understand yourself without feeling pressured to have everything figured out. I especially enjoy working with adults who are functioning in their daily lives but recognize that something feels unresolved, overwhelming, repetitive, or out of alignment. Therapy becomes a place to explore what is happening, understand yourself more deeply, and make intentional changes that support greater emotional well-being and a more fulfilling life.

Hello, I'm Tracey. "Relationships often die not because of conversations that were had but rather conversations that were never had," (Lysa Terkeurst). Communication is the #1 most reported reason for couples to enter therapy. It is the "appropriate" way of saying, "he doesn't listen to me," and "all she wants to do is talk and talk, {nag}" or giving each other what I refer to as the "non-verbal abuse" {silent treatment}. It means I don't know my partner, or we can't talk without fighting. Yet almost every couple starts off communicating at some level. I mean, come on--you and your partner would not be a couple if the first date involved playing the "Staring contest" where the first one to blink loses. What we fail to recognize is that Communication is a form of Intimacy. And all other forms on intimacy hinge on protecting the communicative intimacy. So, what is that and how do I get some before we leave each other? Communicative intimacy refers to the deep emotional and relational closeness that develops through communication, where individuals feel understood, valued, and connected on a personal level. It is both a feeling and a process shaped by how people interact, listen, and respond to each other. It involves an aligned commitment to taking care of it and protecting it. So, time's a wasting and you both are out of options. You both need to commit to starting this before you commit to ending.

I am a social worker with 25 years of experience supporting clients across the lifespan — from infants and their caregivers to older adults navigating later‑life challenges. My work is grounded in the belief that our thoughts are powerful drivers of our emotions and behaviors. When we learn to understand and reshape those thoughts, meaningful and lasting change becomes possible. Using Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), I help clients harness the power of their thinking to influence how they feel and act in everyday situations. Many people have been taught to “just change their behavior,” and when that doesn’t work, they blame themselves. I guide clients toward a different approach — one that starts with the mind, not with willpower. In our sessions, I use analogies, real‑life examples, and practical tools that clients can immediately apply. My goal is for every session to end with one new tool for their toolbox, something concrete they can practice between sessions. And while the work is meaningful, I believe it can also be engaging — even fun — as clients begin to see themselves and the world through a new, more empowering lens.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use.
