Peace. Happiness. Love. Success. We seek them. We want them. As we see them within reach, we are knocked down by the challenges and difficulties of life. We find, instead, lives that are filled with anxiety, sadness, grief, trauma, loss and failure. I know this too well. I have experienced this in my own life and in the life of my clients. It does not matter where you are in your life. I have had celebrity clients at the top of their field. I have worked with gold medal athletes. I have worked with businessmen and women, housewives, families, adolescents. I have also worked with those who have lost everything to the ravishes of substance use and with men serving life in prison. It is possible to navigate the dangerous waters of life, but you will need a guide. I am that guide. I have excellent education from Palm Beach Atlantic University. I have a wealth of experience. I have over three decades of experience as a husband, father, grandfather, youth pastor, counselor and university professor. I have worked in the church, private practice (in Florida and the Bahamas), community mental health (specializing in crisis and families with at-risk-adolescents), foster care, substance abuse, juvenile justice and the prisons. I have maintained my relevance by teaching at the university level, advising a best-selling author on the psychological aspects of his book, and serving as a consultant to other mental health agencies. I have wonderful experience working with anxiety, depression, anger, parenting issues, challenging children and teenagers, grief, trauma, substance use issues, family and relationship issues, LGBT issues, and other issues and concerns. I have helped my clients find peace with themselves, with others and in their situations. I have helped my clients find happiness, even amid loss. I have helped my clients find belonging and love in healthy and supportive relationships. I have helped my clients increase their ability to succeed by changing their thinking. One of the foundations of my life and my work was written by M. Scott Peck in The Road Less Travelled. He wrote, “Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths… Life is a series of problems. Do we want to moan about them or solve them? Do we want to teach our children to solve them?” Let’s start today to solve some of life’s problems and to begin to grasp peace, happiness, love and success.

Being a therapist is my first career. Helping Women Heal from Betrayal, Reclaim Their Identity, and Rebuild Trust in Themselves I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who is passionate about helping women who feel like they’ve lost themselves find their way back to who they truly are. My background includes working with individuals navigating anxiety, trauma, and complex relationship experiences. I specialize in supporting women who are healing from betrayal, emotional wounds, and identity struggles—especially those who appear “strong” on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain within. I take a warm, down-to-earth, and compassionate approach to therapy. I believe you shouldn’t have to filter yourself or have it all together to be supported. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe enough to be honest, process what you’ve been carrying, and begin rebuilding your sense of self with clarity and confidence. As a Christian, I understand the importance of faith in the healing journey and can incorporate spiritual reflection in a way that feels supportive and empowering—if that aligns with your values. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Counseling, and my work is rooted in evidence-based practices while also honoring the emotional, relational, and (if important to you) spiritual parts of your healing.

I work with adults who are navigating depression, relationship struggles, substance use and co-occurring disorders, complicated family dynamics, academic or career stress, life transitions, and the impact of trauma. Whatever brings you to therapy, my goal is to meet you where you are and create a space that feels supportive, steady, and real. In our work together, I bring curiosity, reflection, and a bit of humor into the room. I draw from approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, and I tailor our sessions to what feels most helpful for you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we’ll figure out what works best—together. I aim to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can look at patterns that may be keeping you stuck, make room for difficult emotions, and practice being a little kinder to yourself along the way. Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical—it can be thoughtful, engaging, and even relieving. Clients often describe me as both compassionate and direct. You don’t have to do this alone. I’d be honored to be on your team as we take it one step at a time.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups from diverse cultural, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. My career has taken me across the U.S. and abroad—including New York City, California, and Dublin, Ireland—giving me a broad perspective on the many ways people navigate life’s challenges. Currently, I provide tele-therapy sessions through a HIPAA-compliant platform. Many of my clients have found this format especially helpful in balancing therapy with their busy or unpredictable schedules. My areas of expertise include working with issues related to gender identity, sexuality, and non-traditional relationships (including polyamory and open relationships). I also bring both clinical expertise and personal insight into the challenges that arise in connection with personality disorders such as Narcissistic, Borderline, Avoidant, and Antisocial Personality Disorders. In particular, I help clients process and heal from the emotional trauma that often accompanies relationships impacted by these dynamics. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and grounded in respect for each person’s unique experience. Whether you are seeking support around identity, relationships, or recovery from difficult past experiences, I provide a safe and affirming space where growth and healing are possible. Outside of my work as a therapist, I find joy in activities that keep me grounded and creative. I love traveling and exploring new places, tending to my garden, playing the piano, working out, and cooking. I also have a passion for interior design and creating welcoming spaces. Most importantly, I value quality time with my family, friends, and my dog, Batman, who always manages to bring a smile to my day.

We can have difficulties after experiencing a traumatic event. At times, we can feel numb, depressed or unable to regulate our emotions while navigating through life. For parents, it can be overwhelming for children dealing with behavioral issues and/or emotional problems. You are not alone! Here at Helping Hands, clients experience trauma healing through the word of God. As a trained therapist, I empower my clients by unpacking the cores of their trauma including generational cycles and spiritual issues. I help my clients with tools that they can apply according to the word of God. During this process of assisting my clients, I guide them to receive healing through Christ. My counseling modalities are Christian Counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Play therapy. I work with children and adolescents with emotional neglect, abandonment, PTSD, depression, and oppositional defiant/ behavioral issues. I work with adults (females only) with unresolved childhood trauma, anxiety, parental trauma, generational cycles, spiritual issues, narcissism abuse, emotional abandonment, father and mother wound, relationship issues, sexual abuse and depression. I am a Master's Level Licensed Mental Health Counselor with training in Trauma Work.

Hi, I’m Cinthya! I'm a Florida-based Licensed Clinical Social Worker working exclusively with adults ages 18+ for individual therapy. I do not work with minors, couples, or families at this time. In order to give you a glimpse of who I am and if we are a good fit, here are some of the points I believe in and stress with my clients: 1. Perfectionism doesn’t exist. 2. You’re stronger and more resilient than you think. 3. No one knows your life like you do. Only you know your truth. 4. Everyone can reach their goals and find the peace they deserve. 5. It takes courage to admit we need help and seek it. 6. Change starts with awareness. 7. There are many ways to see the same situation—challenge your perspective. 8. It’s okay to make mistakes. You’re human and that is a part of life. 9. Emotions are valid, even if they seem "wrong." What matters is how you respond. 10. Your worth is not determine by your productivity and/or how much you do for others. You are deserving of love and respect. With all of that said, my job is not to tell you how to live your life—I’m here to help you overcome your challenges while gaining a greater understanding of yourself.

Hello there, I'm Liz! I work with clients who are wanting to heal from past trauma experiences and get to the root causes of their struggles. Trauma changes the way you view yourself, others, and the world. It often has lasting impacts that can be manifested in your current struggles with anxiety, depression, true fulfillment in relationships, diminished executive functioning, and difficulty with honoring your needs and boundaries. My goal is to help you gain insight, build self-awareness, and foster personal growth. Some areas of focus I enjoy addressing with my clients include boundary building, negative core beliefs, strengthening internal validation, self-care, identifying trauma responses, addressing attachment wounds, aligning to your values, improving daily functioning, and developing healthy coping strategies. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic models and techniques to help my clients including but not limited to Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Polyvagal Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. For those who desire and request it, I can integrate Christian-based counseling into the therapeutic process. I believe education/knowledge of what you are going through sets the foundation to the therapeutic work you will be doing.
