Hi, I am Zilla Simpson. I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad, exhausted, burdened by past memories, or just scared or nervous? In our sessions together, I will create a warm environment where you will feel safe to disclose and work together to find solutions and growth. I'll meet you with compassion, integrating mindfulness and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My first session looks like meeting a friendly stranger, that will ask questions without pressure to answer them. I will listen carefully, take some notes, explain the method we will use and mostly attempt to build trust from a respectful starting point. We will begin to construct a plan to meet realistic goals established together, yet these goals will be client centered. We will establish the pace and intensity of he treatment, and schedule future visits as needed or requested by the client.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are being empathetic and compassionate. I have 32 years of experience assisting others in a professional manner.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My clients benefit from my expertise when they are ready to work on their emotional wellness; if they are not looking for advice but instead are trying to use their own strengths to live a fuller, healthier and better balanced life. life. My clients benefit from a structured, yet flexible schedule and commit to communicate openly.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious, less depressed and decreased stressed life.

EMDR

We will use eye movement and bilateral brain stimulation to process traumatic episodes and desensitize your mind and body to past negative experiences.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindful techniques have been used for centuries . I discovered and benefitted from them at a very young age and have shared them with my patients for 32 years.
