Are you feeling paralyzed by anxiety or uncertainty? Are you feeling stuck in your daily life? Are you going through a major life transition? Do you want to get to know yourself better, or learn better tools for managing? If this sounds familiar to you, I might be the counselor for you! Many of my clients are people experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, PTSD, and adult ADHD, or those going through grief, stress, or a curveball life has thrown their way. I love having the opportunity to help people “lift the fog” after a difficult life experience, new diagnosis, or while struggling with mental health. I believe that I excel in helping clients feel comfortable and supported in the counseling process, and that I have a knack for connecting with people and helping them shift perspective in a way that improves their overall outlook on life. I have a thorough understanding of the deep roots that take hold in our inner-narratives and how it impacts our day-to-day lives, and my strengths lie in helping people navigate their way out of life’s difficult mazes. Have questions about counseling? Have questions for me specifically? Let’s chat and see if we are the right fit! I know how much courage it can take to make change, and if you are here, you have already taken an important step: acknowledging that you are searching for something. Let’s create change together.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Clients leaving a first session with me will walk away with an understanding of what to expect in counseling, an idea of the type of counselor that I am, and the beginnings of a plan for what you want and need out of counseling. Clients who commit to the counseling process can experience increased confidence, improved mental health, better coping skills, more positive self-perception and self-talk, and more clarity.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Empathy, the counseling relationship, and your relationship with yourself are what I view as most important to the counseling process. I am a person-centered counselor, with a focus on empathy and unconditional positive regard. I pull from a variety of different counseling modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. I aim to meet each client where they are by pulling from the modalities that will be the best fit for meeting client goals and emotional needs. I am also a certified yoga teacher and enjoy using yoga and mindfulness strategies in session with clients who value this technique.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I feel especially passionate about working with: survivors of abusive relationships (romantic, familial, platonic); those with religious trauma/who are deconstructing; adults with ADHD working to improve their quality of life and build skills for managing symptoms; people experiencing relationship stress, processing childhood trauma, needing to establish better boundaries, or those working to understand confusing emotional responses and/or anxiety triggers. I also enjoy working with couples who are working through communication difficulties or relationship stressors.
