Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Florida. I also hold licensure in MA as well. I am originally from Massachusetts and received my Graduate degree from Northereastern University. I had practiced in Massachusetts for 15 years mainly working with teens, and adult women. I have worked in environemnts such as a residential schools, In Home Therapy, and in private practice. I mostly worked with trauma survivors, clients experiencing anxiety and depression, and those going through life transitions. I moved to Florida three years ago and continue to also work with clients in Mass.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, we do brief introductions, and at the clients comfort level, talk about their history, past experience with counseling, etc. We will then talk further about what brings them to counseling and things they would like to get out of this process.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Having worked in the field for 17 years, I feel I am able to read where a clients comfort level is at, and when they are ready to take next steps in the work we are doing. The overall important thing is that the client feels comfortable and I want to ensure this type of environment. I have a strong background in DBT (a therapy module) and I often use mindfulness along with a mind body approach to best treat clients and am confident in this area.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with a combination of college students, and adult women who may be going through (but not limited to) life changes, anxiety, or those who would like to work through trauma. I would like to work with clients who may be nervous about the therapy process, but are willing to particiapte in sessions, open to feedback, and who are working on being more present, and observant of their thoughts and behaviors.

Meeting Sarah truly changed the game for me when it comes to therapy. Her calm, grounded presence creates a space where I can be fully authentic. While she is warm and deeply supportive, Sarah also excels at holding me accountable and asking the kinds of thoughtful questions that prompt real self-reflection and growth. Her steadfast values, healthy boundaries, and active listening have been instrumental in shaping my mental health journey. I feel incredibly fortunate to work with her.

Just had my first meeting with Sarah all of the above she listened and I’m sort of person that’s all over the place sometimes but she made me feel safe and secure and that I was validated my thoughts. I have some goals and that was a big help. She really was listening to me made me feel heard so I’m looking forward to having more conversations and figuring it all out🥰

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been certified in DBT since 2008. DBT is very effective in treating many areas such as (but not limited to) anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, and communication issues. I often utilze DBT in sessions as it's basic core components focus on mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal skills, and effective communication.

Mind-body approach

In my experience, using a mind body approach is highly effective in helping clients become more in tune with the mind body connection and how symptoms are affected, and treatd through this module. Treating the body as a whole, opposed to one symptom, will assist us in treating the bigger picture with long term healing as the goal as opposed to just the moment.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have mainly worked with female trauma survivors during my practice. It is important for clients to know that during trauma focused therapy, we will go at the clients pace in order to create a comfortable, and supportive environment. Clinician will work with clients at their own pace to process truama, and navigate coping skills around this.

Christian Counseling

In using faith based counseling, it gives clients the opportunity to utilize their faith as a strength base in their healing journey. Furthermore, it allows clients to to lean into acceptance of a higher power and put their trust in this which in turn, can asssit with decreasing symptoms such as anxiety and depression when you hand this over.
