Hi! I'm Dawn and I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner with 13 years of experience treating and working with clients of all ages. I believe that the relationship between a psychiatric nurse practitioner and the clients she serves is a partnership of trust and understanding. I work closely with each and every client to develop the most effective individualized treatment plan (which may or may not include medication management). If something is not going well, I check in with the client to discuss possible changes to improve the plan for the better. My goal is to assist every client on the journey to mental wellness!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I will ask numerous questions in order to get to know you, what your mental health concerns are (including your biggest concern), what you have or have not tried in the past for mental health treatment, and work closely with you to develop a plan of care that will allow you to become better and to improve your overall mental wellness. Right from the start, you will know that your journey with me as a provider is one of trust and understanding and I promise to be of help in any way that I am able.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in a variety of treatment settings, with a client population of all ages, who are experiencing numerous mental health concerns, I have gained a vast amount of knowledge and skill in accurately diagnosing and developing individual treatment plans. I have unique experience working with those suffering from trauma including Complex PTSD-something only a few providers specialize in. I am often considered unique to my clients as I truly listen to each of them, without judgement, hearing their stories of what has happened in the past and what they would like for their futures. If they do not envision themselves in the future, I come alongside to provide support and understanding as we develop a plan of care to help them see a future. I am a team player who wants to see each and every client reach the highest degree of mental wellness possible.
