Niousha Soleimani
Hi, I’m Niousha, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel understood, supported, and comfortable being yourself while also having the opportunity to grow and make meaningful changes. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to you, drawing from different therapeutic tools depending on what you need. I work with individuals and couples navigating relationships, life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem, and other challenges, and I’m passionate about helping people better understand themselves and build more fulfilling lives and relationships.
First session
In your first session, my goal is for you to feel genuinely heard, understood, and safe being yourself. I don’t see people as “good” or “bad,” or their experiences as simply “right” or “wrong.” I believe that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors have a reason behind them and can give us valuable information about what we’ve experienced and what we need. Together, we’ll begin making sense of what’s happening for you, how your past may be influencing your reactions today, and what you may want to do differently moving forward.
Strengths
I bring warmth, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand each person’s unique experience. I’m a good listener and work to create a space where clients feel safe being honest and fully themselves, without judgment. I also bring a balance of emotional support and practical tools, helping clients not only understand what they’re experiencing but also feel more equipped to make meaningful changes.
Ideal clients
I love working with adults, couples, and parents who want to better understand themselves, their past, and how those experiences may be shaping the way they show up today. Together, we can explore why you respond the way you do, recognize patterns that may no longer be serving you, and create space to make different choices. I especially enjoy helping people feel less reactive and more grounded, so they don’t feel controlled or “hijacked” by old patterns and can respond to life and relationships in a way that feels more intentional.
Treatment methods
Attachment-based
I use an attachment-based approach to help you understand how your past experiences and relationships may influence the way you connect with others today. Together, we can explore patterns in relationships, communication, and emotional needs without judgment. I help you develop a better understanding of yourself and your relationships so you can feel more secure, communicate more openly, and create healthier connections.
Brainspotting
I use Brainspotting as a tool to help clients process experiences and emotions that may feel stuck or difficult to fully work through just by talking. It can be especially helpful when you know something is affecting you but have a hard time finding the right words or understanding why you’re reacting the way you do. I guide you through the process at your own pace, while you stay in control of what you want to explore.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate CBT techniques when they fit your needs, particularly when it’s helpful to look at the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. We may use simple, practical strategies to identify unhelpful patterns, shift perspectives, and try new ways of responding. I use these tools alongside a more relational approach, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all method.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
I draw from ideas in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), particularly when working with relationships and emotional connection. I help clients slow down and understand what’s underneath their reactions, identify the needs they may be trying to express, and communicate those needs more clearly. I’ve learned about EFT through trainings, workshops, books, podcasts, and the work of leading clinicians in the field, and I incorporate what fits naturally into my broader therapeutic approach.
Gottman method
I use the Gottman Method to help couples better understand each other, communicate more effectively, and strengthen their relationship. We may look at patterns that lead to conflict, learn ways to have difficult conversations without getting stuck in the same cycle, and focus on rebuilding connection and friendship. My goal is to help couples feel more like a team while creating practical changes they can carry into their everyday lives.
