Meghan McKenzie

LP (she/her)4 years of experience

I’m a psychologist who believes therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, supported, and understood. People often come to me carrying anxiety, stress, old patterns that won’t let go, or the lingering impact of trauma. My role is to offer a steady, compassionate space where you don’t have to hold everything together and where we can explore what’s happening beneath the surface at a pace that feels right for you. My style in the therapy room is warm, curious, and collaborative. I pay close attention not just to what you share but to how you’re feeling as you share it. I’m here to help you make sense of your experiences, understand the patterns shaping your life, and build tools that support healing, clarity, and meaningful change. My work is humanistic and attachment trauma‑informed and grounded in evidence‑based approaches, with extensive training and experience in OCD/anxiety treatment. My goal is to integrate these in a way that feels accessible. If you’re considering therapy, I’d be honored to learn more about what you’re navigating and what you’re hoping for. You can start by sharing your goals or requesting a consultation, and we’ll explore whether this feels like the right fit.

First session

In our first session, my goal is simply to help you feel comfortable. I’ll invite you to share what’s been going on and ask a few gentle questions so I can understand what you’re navigating. You’ll get a sense of my style—warm, steady, and genuinely curious about your experience. I’ll check in with you about what helps you feel safe and what pace feels right. By the end, you’ll have a clearer sense of whether this feels like a good fit and what our next steps might look like. My hope is that you leave feeling a little more grounded and a little less alone.

Strengths

I bring a steady, compassionate presence to therapy—someone who can sit with you in whatever you’re carrying without rushing you or trying to “fix” things too quickly. Clients often tell me they feel safe opening up because I’m genuinely curious about their experience and attuned to how they’re feeling moment to moment. I’m skilled at noticing patterns—both the ones that help you and the ones that keep you stuck—and reflecting them back in a way that feels supportive rather than overwhelming. I help you slow down, make sense of what’s happening inside, and build tools that feel realistic and grounding. My trauma‑informed training allows me to create a space where your nervous system can settle. I pay attention to pacing, safety, and the emotional tone of the room, so you never feel pushed beyond what feels manageable. At the same time, I gently guide you toward insight, clarity, and meaningful change. Above all, I bring warmth, authenticity, a collaborative spirit., and the added commitment to walking alongside you as you navigate whatever comes up.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is an adult who’s been working hard to manage life but feels weighed down by anxiety, OCD patterns, or relationship stress. They’re thoughtful and self‑aware. They may find their mind looping on worries, rules, or “what ifs,” or feel stuck in patterns that make daily life more exhausting than it should be. They’re someone who wants to understand themselves more deeply and is open to exploring both the practical tools and the emotional layers of their experience. Many of the people I work with care deeply about their relationships—partners, family, friends—and want to show up more fully without feeling overwhelmed by fear, doubt, or old dynamics. My ideal client isn’t expected to arrive with everything figured out. They simply come with a willingness to be honest, curious, and engaged in the process. Together, we work toward building clarity, confidence, and more ease in both their inner world and their relationships.
