First session
In our first session, we will complete introductions, and I will try to get to know you better. I know that we all change over time, so I will focus on your previous history and experiences and also concentrate on any present challenges. Ultimately, we will work together to formulate a plan that is custom to your needs. **Please note** I am happy to work with you to determine the best treatment plan, however, I do not prescribe controlled medications including stimulants (Adderall, Vyvanse, etc) or anti-anxiolytics (Xananx, Valium, etc).
Strengths
I believe that my greatest strength as a provider is approaching care with a non-judgmental attitude. I like creating a safe and supportive environment where you feel respected, heard and valued regardless of your background, choices, or circumstances. I strive to meet my patients with empathy and openness, actively listen without making assumptions or passing judgment. I believe that this allows us to build strong therapeutic relationships and provide support in your journey towards better health and well-being, free from stigma or bias.
Ideal clients
I have extensive experience working with patients facing a range of mood disorders including depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I am deeply passionate about supporting adults and children age 12-64, through compassion and evidenced base care. My clinical background also includes working with individuals who struggle with addiction, allowing me to understand the complex interplay between mood instability and substance use. I am committed to helping patient's navigate challenges by providing comprehensive individualized treatment that promote recovery resilience and long-term wellness.
Treatment methods
Compassion-Focused
Life's experiences are better managed when we have a more positive view of ourselves and others. My goal is to reinforce your affirming qualities in order to establish renewed thinking for a revived approach which ultimately promotes feelings of safety and emotional regulation.
Psychoeducation
I incorporate psychoeducation into my practice to promote optimal medication management. Together, we will formulate a treatment plan. My goal is to ensure that you fully understand your treatment plan, including the purpose, benefits, and potential side effects of prescribed medications. We will talk about how your medications work, the importance of adherence, and what to expect in terms of response and duration.
