I believe that therapy is a space that belongs to you and is nurtured by your therapist for you. Through this healing environment, I give you the tools to change self-defeating behaviors. I use integrative techniques that we are grounded in person-centered theory. I have worked in both mental health and private practice settings, so I bring both solution based and process based experience to my clients.
During the first session, clients share what brings them into therapy. We review their background history (family, relationship, work history). We discuss what their goals are for therapy and how often we will meet. Depending on the needs of the client I may teach the client a coping skills. And finally before the session ends, the client may receive a lifework assignment to complete outside of sessions to prepare them for the next session.
My biggest strength as a clinician is the ability to help my clients feel truly heard and seen.
Clients that desire a safe place to process life events and find ways to manage and improve difficult thoughts and feelings; are best served by me.
I use these concepts to assist clients in changing difficult behaviors by identifying and challenging their thoughts that are less helpful.
This interventions is used to treat trauma and and trauma related symptoms.
I aid clients in incorporating their faith in their healing process.
Person-centered theory informs all of the interventions I use with clients. The client is in the drivers seat and I co-pilot their process.
