I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Connecticut and have over 15 years experience. I earned my Master of Science in Counseling and Development from Long Island Post University and have worked in various agencies focusing on a person-centered approach to helping others. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use issues, parental/relationship concerns as well as career challenges.
In our first session, we will have a brief introduction and I will answer any questions you may have about my training or methods. We will dive into what brought you to therapy and come up with a treatment plan for continued sessions. As a therapist, I believe in the power of laughter as a tool for healing and growth. You'll find that I often incorporate humor into our sessions, not just because it's enjoyable, but because it can be profoundly therapeutic. Laughter has a unique way of breaking down barriers, fostering connection, and bringing lightness to even the heaviest of topics. So, while we'll certainly delve into deep and meaningful discussions, you can also expect some moments of levity along the way. Together, we'll navigate the ups and downs of life with a healthy dose of laughter.
I believe in positive thinking and will encourage you every step of the way. I treat everyone with respect and compassion and do not believe in putting others down or labeling. As part of my therapeutic approach, I believe in the power of humor and laughter to facilitate healing and connection.
I empower individual adults to regain control and self-confidence by addressing and helping them overcome the impact of their past traumas.
I have been trained in EMDR treatment since January 2019 and have been using this method virtually for 4+ years.
Using evidence-based techniques, I guide individuals through identifying patterns, exploring underlying issues, and developing practical tools to enhance their relationship.
