My name is Monica and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Since 2006, I've been dedicated to helping people move beyond limiting labels and negative beliefs to discover their true selves. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each client's unique needs, using a range of techniques to help you build deeper connections and feel stronger in your everyday life. Whether through telehealth or, eventually, in-person sessions, I'm here to support you on your journey toward growth and healing.
In our first session, we’ll focus on getting to know you and your goals. We’ll explore why you’re seeking therapy, gather background information to understand your situation better, and set goals for our work together. If we don’t cover everything in one session, we’ll continue in the next, we’ll conclude our session with a hopeful outlook and personalized coping skills to fit your needs.
My greatest strengths as a counselor lie in creating a safe, encouraging, and creative space for our sessions. I balance insight and reflection to support your healing journey, while also bringing hope and a touch of fun when appropriate.
Since 2006, I’ve worked with a diverse range of topics including but not limited to parenting, youth issues, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, and ADHD. I welcome clients who are eager to improve their lives, as well as those who may be uncertain about what needs to change or who aren't quite ready to take the leap. My goal is to meet you where you are and provide the support, tools, and resources you need in a warm and non-threatening environment to help you achieve healing and growth at your own pace.
Our brains can change and adapt over time, even when dealing with deep-seated issues. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy that uses simple techniques, like eye movements or sounds, to help people process and heal from traumatic experiences, making those memories less painful and helping them move forward with a healthier mindset.
