About me

If your child is struggling with anxiety, strong emotions, school stress, or a major change, finding the right support can make a difference. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified School Counselor who works with children, teens, and young adults. I also understand that these challenges can affect the whole family, and I aim to create a space where clients and their families feel heard and supported. I tailor counseling to each client’s needs rather than using the same approach with everyone. Together, we may work on understanding unhelpful thoughts, managing difficult emotions, building coping skills, recognizing strengths, and setting realistic goals. My goal is to provide a safe, encouraging, and judgment-free environment where young people can feel comfortable being themselves. I help clients build skills they can use at school, college, home, work, and in their relationships. Most importantly, I want each client to leave our work with greater confidence in their ability to handle challenges and move forward.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another and begin building trust. We will talk about what brought you or your child to counseling, along with important background information, current challenges, strengths, and goals. I will explain what counseling may look like and answer any questions you have. Together, we will begin creating a plan that supports you or your child’s social and emotional well-being. There is no expectation to have everything figured out during the first appointment. My goal is to help everyone feel comfortable, heard, and clear about what comes next. From there, we can continue building skills and working toward meaningful progress together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My experience as a Certified School Counselor gives me a strong understanding of the challenges children, teens, and young adults may face at school and during major transitions. I have experience supporting young people with anxiety, academic stress, social concerns, organization, and managing strong emotions. I bring an encouraging and practical approach to counseling. Together, we can work on building self-esteem, solving problems, staying organized, and finding healthier ways to manage difficult feelings. My goal is to help young people develop skills they can use beyond our sessions. I want clients to feel more confident handling challenges at school, at home, and in their relationships while becoming more independent over time.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with school-age children, teens, and young adults who may be dealing with anxiety, difficulty managing emotions, life transitions, or challenges related to school or college. I also support clients who want to improve their attention, organization, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence. Our work is practical and focused on each client’s needs. Together, we can identify strengths, build useful coping strategies, and develop skills for handling challenges in everyday life. I strive to provide a supportive and encouraging environment where each client feels understood and capable of making progress. Please note that I do not provide services through this platform for clients experiencing self-harm or suicidal thoughts. If you or your child is experiencing these concerns, please connect with a provider who can offer the appropriate level of care or seek immediate in-person support. I also do not work with court-ordered clients through this platform.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients notice how their thoughts can affect their feelings and actions. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns and practice healthier ways of thinking and coping. These skills can help clients feel more prepared to manage anxiety, stress, and other everyday challenges.

Psychoeducation

Understanding what you are experiencing can make challenges feel more manageable. I provide age-appropriate information about emotions, behaviors, mental health, and coping skills. This can help clients better understand themselves, build self-awareness, and learn practical ways to support their well-being.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I help clients recognize the strengths and abilities they already have. Rather than focusing only on problems, we identify achievable goals and practical steps toward positive change. This approach can help young people notice their progress and build confidence in their ability to solve problems.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I provide a supportive and judgment-free space where clients can feel heard, respected, and valued. I meet clients where they are and encourage them to explore their thoughts and feelings at a pace that feels comfortable. My goal is to help each client recognize their strengths and feel more confident handling challenges.
