Greetings! My name is Brian. I am a licensed counselor in Pennsylvania. I have worked with both long-term and short-term clients in residential treatment and outpatient settings since 2010. My straightforward approach includes aspects of Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Solution-Focused Counseling. I encourage clients to think deeply about the underlying feelings that drive their actions to release pain. Thank you for taking the time to read my intro.
In our first session, I found it helpful for you to expand on your reason for coming to counseling. We will explore your story that has brought you to where you are today as well as any other relevant information that may be driving the challenge you are facing. I also will discuss the limits of confidentiality which I hope will bring peace of mind once we discuss it.
Having worked in various settings with many different challenges, I am confident that we can partner together to accomplish your counseling goals.
I enjoy working with individuals who are motivated to make changes. Sometimes, just having someone to listen is enough; other times, having someone challenge your thinking is necessary. I am comfortable with doing those things. I like using outside-the-box ideas to help overcome frustrations and hang-ups and build personal resilience.
The root of all feelings are in our thoughts about the world around us. When those thoughts become skewed or are negative to the point of being overwhelming it is important to reset those thoughts.
