I am a licensed clinical social worker that has focused strictly on mental health counseling for 14 years. I graduated from Adelphi University with a graduate degree in 2014. I look to help you identify your strengths and apply them so that you can increase your knowledge of self to live to your full potential and achieve your desired outcomes. We do this by forming a trusting and caring relationship within a safe and secure space. I support clients to explore their habitual beliefs and behaviors that have been causing personal distress and/or relational problems. It can be challenging and even bring up fearful thoughts and feeling to start the counseling process. I invite you to push past your boundaries and allow me to support you on the journey towards knowing yourself and healing. This is so you can experience joy in the life you choose to make. I look forward to meeting you, Lisa Hotchkiss LCSW

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will have an introduction to the present challenges in your life and possible interventions that can help. We will go over counseling and how to best prepare for sessions and length of treatment.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have a lot of compassion, empathy and patience. I have learned to trust the process of therapy, and this allows me to be present with each of those I counsel. I am eager to learn more and get more skillful in the craft of counseling. I truly love what i do and i do not take things personally.
