Yaimara Cruz
Hello Everyone! My name is Yaimara, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I am dual-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I received both Post Master’s from Purdue University Global. I have been in the field for over 10 years.
One of my greatest strengths is patient advocacy—I am deeply committed to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and improving access to quality care.
I conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnose mental health disorders, and develop individualized treatment plans. I help patients manage conditions like anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and other mental disorders. My goal is to promote mental wellness and improve individuals' and families' overall quality of life.
First session
During our first session, we’ll begin with brief introductions to help establish a comfortable and supportive environment. I want to understand your unique experiences, concerns, and goals for treatment. We’ll then explore the specific challenges you’re facing, including how they impact your daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. This initial conversation will allow me to gather important information about your mental health history, symptoms, past treatments, and any medications you’ve tried before. Based on this, I’ll develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs, which may include medication management, therapy referrals, and lifestyle recommendations.

Empathy and compassion are at the heart of my practice. I prioritize building genuine connections with my patients, fostering trust and understanding in a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment. My approach goes beyond symptom management—I address the whole person, considering biological, psychological, and social factors to create a comprehensive, individualized treatment plan. One of my greatest strengths is patient advocacy—I am deeply committed to reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and improving access to quality care.
