Hi, I have enjoyed a career in the Mental Health Field working with Children, Adolescents, and their families. I consider it a privilege to walk with people as they learn more about themselves and grow confidence in their own abilities. I have worked in private and public community agencies with outpatient services. My areas of experience are teenagers/young adults, seeking to find their voice, come out of their shells and grow into healthy adults. I also have experince working with adults in all stages of life, who are trying to find peace and balance in their lives. I work with individuals to improve their self-esteem and overcome the memories which hold them back in life. I am English-speaking. I offer individual therapy in a confidential setting. I believe that developing a trusting relationship is key to your success.
Our initial meeting will include a review of some of your life history that may be a contributing factor to your current state of mind. After our first session, we can assess our "fit" with one another, and plan the frequency of our meetings. I believe that we need to understand the baseline of how you feel you're functioning at this time, as a means of observing progress you make toward the goals we set together.
I utilize the principles of CBT as a basis for self-understanding and ways to recognize how our thinking affects our emotions and behavior. I utilize worksheets and brief homework assignments to allow you the freedom to work at your own pace in effecting change in your life.
My past experiences include working with children/adolescents who have been abused/neglected in their early life. This is often the basis for difficulties in adult life having to do with relationship building and maintaining a healthy balance in your life.
