I am an open-minded, person-centered, and strength-based mental health counselor that focuses on the present and provides counseling through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methodology. I have over 10 years of mental health counseling experience working with individuals ages 15-55 in need of Anxiety, Bipolar, Depression, ADHD, Anger Management, Grief, Career and general life skills counseling in private practice and school settings.
I am very passionate about my work with clients. Clients can expect to work together on goals and identifying tools to help build awareness and develop coping skills. This will help us focus on what we can do to address your needs during each counseling session. After the first session, this give us an opportunity to recognize your goals and for me to build a counseling agenda that fits those goals so we can work together towards them.
I am passionate about working together with my clients to navigate life's challenges by identifying the root causes and creating a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress. My biggest strength is that I actively listen well and that I very non-judgmental. These strengths help me build relationships and provide a comfort for my client to open up and feel safe during our sessions.
I enjoy working with individuals aged 15-55 who are motivated to improve themselves but lack the necessary tools to make that change happen. Many of them feel stuck, overwhelmed, and anxious for various reasons, and they recognize that change is essential for their growth. Clients that also understand that counseling is voluntary, and that the best way for a client to grow is to be open-minded, coachable, and transparent with their counselor.
CBT is used in my practice to build awareness, recognize when negative thought patterns become distortions, and to choose to change or reduce the frequency and intensity of those patterns.
Recognizing stories and narratives of our lives that we create and how they affect us and how to process them.
Actively listening and working through client driven concerns utilizing client strengths and focusing on their needs.
