New to Grow
Hi, I’m a licensed professional counselor and former school counselor with a heart for supporting children, teens, and women through life’s ups and downs. I create a warm, supportive space where you can feel comfortable being yourself while also learning practical tools to manage emotions, reduce stress, and feel more in control. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, big life changes, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you and help you move forward with confidence.
Your first session is really about getting to know you—at your pace. We’ll talk through what’s been going on, what brought you to therapy, and what you’re hoping will feel different in your life. There’s no pressure to share everything all at once—I’ll guide the conversation in a way that feels comfortable and natural. I’ll also ask a few questions to better understand your background, current challenges, and any goals you may have. If you’re bringing your child, I’ll spend time connecting with both of you and begin building trust so your child feels safe and at ease. By the end of our time together, you’ll have a clearer idea of how I work, and we’ll start mapping out next steps. Most importantly, my goal is for you to leave feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about what’s ahead.
What really stands out about my approach is that it’s both supportive and practical. I’m not just here to listen—I’m here to help you actually feel better and see change in your day-to-day life. I blend approaches like DBT, mindfulness, and (for children) play therapy to meet you where you are and give you tools you can truly use outside of session. Clients often tell me they appreciate how real and relatable our sessions feel. You can expect a space where you’re understood and not judged, but also gently challenged when needed so you don’t stay stuck. We focus on building awareness, learning skills, and creating small, meaningful shifts that add up over time. My goal is for you to leave therapy not just feeling heard—but feeling more confident, more in control, and equipped to handle what life brings.
I’m best positioned to support children, teens, and women who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or trying to navigate a new season of life. Many of my clients come to me dealing with anxiety, big emotions, stress, or challenges in their relationships—whether at school, at home, or within themselves. I especially connect with clients who are ready for something to change, even if they’re not exactly sure where to start. You might be someone who overthinks, feels deeply, puts a lot of pressure on yourself, or is simply tired of carrying everything on your own. For kids, I help them express and work through their feelings in a way that feels safe and natural. For teens and women, I focus on building emotional balance, confidence, and practical coping tools so you can feel more in control, more at peace, and more like yourself again. If you’re looking for a space where you’ll feel understood, supported, and gently guided toward real change, we’ll likely be a great fit.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by your emotions, stuck in your thoughts, or unsure how to handle certain situations or relationships—you’re not alone. That’s exactly where DBT comes in, and it’s a big part of how I support my clients. I use DBT in a very real, practical way. Together, we’ll learn skills to help you calm your mind, handle stress without shutting down or reacting in ways you regret, and communicate more confidently in your relationships. I’ll help you understand your emotions (instead of feeling controlled by them) and give you tools you can actually use in your everyday life. I also believe you don’t need to be “fixed” to grow. In our work, you’ll feel supported and understood, while also being gently challenged to make the changes you want. My goal is for you to leave sessions thinking, “I can do this”—because you truly can.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
If your mind feels like it’s always racing, overthinking, or stuck on the past or future, mindfulness-based therapy can be a really powerful way to find some calm and clarity. In our work together, I’ll gently help you slow things down and become more present in your day-to-day life. That might look like learning how to notice your thoughts without getting caught up in them, feeling your emotions without being overwhelmed, and creating small moments of peace—even on hard days. I keep mindfulness very real and approachable—no pressure to be perfect or sit in silence for long periods. It’s about simple, practical tools you can use in the middle of your busy life. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more in control, and more connected to yourself.
Play Therapy
Play therapy is a really natural and powerful way for children to express what they’re feeling—especially when they don’t yet have the words for it. I have experience using play therapy to help kids work through big emotions, behavior challenges, life changes, and anxiety in a way that feels safe and comfortable to them. In sessions, your child won’t be expected to just sit and talk. Instead, they’ll use toys, art, games, and imagination to express what’s going on inside. Through that process, I’m able to understand their world and gently help them build skills like emotional regulation, confidence, and healthier ways to cope. I also partner closely with parents, so you feel supported and know how to help your child outside of sessions too. My goal is for your child to feel seen, understood, and safe—while giving them tools to grow and thrive in a way that feels natural to them.
