New to Grow
My name is Jackee and I am a clinical mental health therapist in Maryland. I am a Penn State grad with a variety of experience in human services across the lifespan. I provide a person-centered approach to focus on your needs at the present time. I am direct, transparent and open minded. I have served low income, domestic violence survivors, those in recovery and high risk populations.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our initial session with be a lot of you sharing your story while I ask you a variety of questions to get to know you better. These questions will cover symptoms, your personal history, any substance use, medications you're on and what your goals for therapy are.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My greatest strength is my intuition. If I see a pattern or notice something you may be missing, I will point it out. I've been known for client's appreciating my feedback and wanting to hear what I have to share. Therapy with me won't look like it does on TV. It will have dialogue and minimal "mmhmm's." I do my best to help my client's uncover roots to their problem and develop action plans to address it.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am best positioned to serve someone who is ready to make a change, but may not know what steps to take. I am also helpful to those who know what to do, but feel they get stuck or are missing a piece of the puzzle. Either way, if you are ready to make progress, I'm here to co-facilitate!
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I shift modalities to support my client's needs. I view each client as their whole-self and use a holistic approach to provide support that will best improve their symptoms.
