I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 25 years of nursing experience and over four years specializing in psychiatry. I believe every person deserves to feel heard, respected, and involved in their treatment decisions. My approach combines evidence-based medication management with education, collaboration, and practical strategies that help you better understand your mental health and feel empowered throughout your care.

First session

Starting psychiatric care can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to make your first appointment comfortable and productive. We'll spend time getting to know you—not just your symptoms, but your medical history, past treatments, lifestyle, strengths, and goals. We'll discuss what has and hasn't worked, review treatment options together, and develop a personalized plan that fits your needs. I encourage questions and believe patients should understand why a medication or treatment is being recommended. You'll leave with a clear plan and a better understanding of the next steps.

Strengths

I believe the best psychiatric care is built on partnership. I take time to listen carefully, ask questions, and look at the whole person rather than simply treating a diagnosis. My background in nursing education allows me to explain complex conditions and medications in ways that are easy to understand, helping patients feel informed and confident about their care.

Ideal clients

Adults who are ready to better understand their mental health and actively participate in their treatment. Many are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, bipolar disorder, insomnia or life transitions that are affecting their relationships, work or overall well-being. My goal is to help clients gain symptom relief, improve daily functioning, and build long-term emotional wellness through evidence-based psychiatric medication management and education.

Treatment methods
