I provide individual therapy and am dedicated to working with young children, women who experience domestic/intimate partner violence, and adults, as well as individuals who experience mental health and substance use issues. Therapy is one of the first and most significant steps a person can take to start making positive changes in their life. I work with my clients to provide a safe and open space to explore current challenges and their impact on daily life. I value the importance of a therapeutic relationship and focus on building a personable rapport with my clients to establish trust and acceptance. I utilize various therapeutic modalities, including a holistic and culturally responsive approach, strength-based and client-centered methods, solution-focused therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). These modalities allow me to customize my approach to meet each client’s unique needs and goals. I am deeply committed to serving individuals from diverse populations. I understand that change is hard, scary, and can sometimes create other challenges in life. I provide patient and understanding support to help you work through those challenges and progress toward becoming your best self.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will focus on building a safe and supportive space where you can share your story at your own pace. I will ask questions to better understand what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We will also begin identifying patterns, strengths, and goals, while making sure you feel heard, respected, and comfortable. This session is about connection, clarity, and setting a foundation for meaningful work moving forward.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What makes me unique as a therapist is my ability to integrate emotional depth with practical insight. I don’t just focus on symptoms, I help clients explore meaning, identity, and the “why” behind their patterns while also giving them tools they can apply in real life. My presence is calm yet direct, compassionate yet honest. I value authenticity, so I show up as a real person in the room, which helps clients feel safe enough to be real too. I also bring cultural awareness and faith sensitivity into my work when appropriate, allowing clients to feel fully understood within the context of their lived experiences and values. I also speak Swahili and some somali.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are seeking deeper self-understanding and are open to reflecting on their life experiences, values, and patterns. They may be navigating transitions such as career changes, relationship challenges, or identity shifts, and are ready to explore what meaning and purpose look like for them. I work well with emotionally aware clients who are motivated for growth, even if they feel stuck or uncertain. They are willing to engage in honest conversations, sit with discomfort, and take responsibility for their choices as they move toward living more authentically. I am especially drawn to clients who value personal growth, faith, and intentional living. They want more than symptom relief, they want clarity, alignment, and a stronger sense of self in their relationships and life decisions.

My treatment methods

Existential

I have used existential therapy by helping clients explore meaning, purpose and personal responsibilities in theur lives, especially during the time of transition, loss,or identity struggles. I guide them in reflecting on themes such as feeedom, isolation, choice, isolation and mortality, while encouraging them to take ownership of their decision and values. Rather than only focusing on symptoms reduction, i create space for clients to sit with discomfort, examine their beliefs, and clarify what truly matters to them. Through open-ended reflection,i support clients in building self awareness, embracing authenticity, and making intentional choices aligned with core values.
