My name is Mr. Mozeko, a licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Florida. I have experience working with preteens, teens, and adults going through a range of presenting problems from life transitions to psychiatric illnesses. I began my career working with children living in high stress environments, working to reduce the malicious effects of stress on physical and psychological health. Since then, I have worked independently and under supervision with more complex issues including survivors of trauma, those living with a mentally ill family member, and other wide reaching conditions such as anxiety, substance use, and depression.
My initial sessions usually consist of gathering background information pertinent to the presenting problem, getting to know you better, and how I can best understand the reason you came in.
I have experience working with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds, as well as knowledge of the education system from my time as a school counselor.
From my training and experience, I am best positioned to serve clients 12 and older dealing with interpersonal conflict, survivors of past trauma, those going through life transitions, and anyone experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, or substance use.
My approach with clients utilizes a number of steps including assessment, identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, behavioral activation, problem solving, and building on strengths and solutions. My clients and I have had the most success with this focused approach, but remain I flexible with my approach if indicated.
I utilize Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to effectively support clients in addressing the emotional and psychological impact of trauma. By incorporating structured sessions that combine cognitive-behavioral techniques with trauma-sensitive interventions, I help clients process traumatic memories, reduce symptoms, and develop healthy coping strategies. This approach empowers my clients to regain control over their lives and improve their overall well-being.
Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) helps clients by focusing on improving their interpersonal relationships and communication patterns. It addresses specific difficulties such as grief, role transitions, and conflicts, and I help to provide clients with strategies to navigate these challenges. By working together to enhance social skills and emotional expression, I have been able to help clients build stronger, more supportive connections with others, often leading to improved mental health and well-being.
