Hello, My name is Brittany and I am a passionate and empathetic Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my degree in Master of Social Service (M.S.S) from the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research of Bryn Mawr College in 2017. I have been practicing in PA for the past 7 years within the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and have been committed to serving Veterans and their families struggling with co-occurring disorders. I have recently expanded my passion of helping adult individuals who are ready to take action and start making the changes needed to better manage mental health and/or substance use disorders, accept the uncertainty of life transitions, and finding the hope and strength to continue to fight and truly live life again for themselves and their loved ones.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions while allowing time for clients to ask the questions needed to create a safe space where I hope our professional rapport can continue to grow. We will then discuss what your area of focus and recovery is and where you would like to begin and how one may want their road of recovery to feel and look. This will help me create a treatment plan for us to work through and keep on track each session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having to always been one who was always looking out for others and felt a fire inside me to stand up and advocate for those who are misunderstood, mistreated, or stigmatized by the world. I feel as though my empathy and compassion for others allows for a space to be created for patience and understanding on one's road of healing and recovery. My past years of experience working with dual diagnosis has allowed me to gain an array of tools, skills, and resources that help ease the recovery process by allowing the client to personalize their treatment by discussing recovery options and processes that allow us to collaboratively work as a team to begin the healing process and continue to take action together to reach ones goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am passionate about working with adult individuals who are ready to no longer suffer in silence and take the steps needed to get on their road of healing and recovery for mental health and/or substance dependence. Individuals who are ready to bring their pain and suffering to the surface while learning and practicing the skills and tools that will help one free themself. Individuals who are committed to change but may feel misguided or lost on their journey but who are ready to resolve internal ambivalence by meeting their goals by creating a plan for change by being open and honest about one's thoughts, feelings and motivation for change.
