Malcolm Redmond
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over seven years of experience providing therapy to adolescents, adults, and families. I help individuals navigate anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and solution-focused, creating a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful changes.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and solution-focused, creating a supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered. I believe therapy should offer more than a place to talk. It’s an opportunity to gain insight, develop practical coping skills, strengthen relationships, and make meaningful changes that support long-term emotional well-being.
First session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore what you hope to achieve. My priority is creating a comfortable, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard and understood. We’ll discuss your concerns, relevant experiences, and goals while beginning to identify areas for growth. Whether working individually, as a couple, or as a family, I tailor my approach to your unique needs. My hope is that you leave feeling supported, encouraged, and more confident about taking the next steps.
Strengths
I bring a calm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach to therapy while encouraging honest reflection and personal growth. My experience across crisis intervention, community mental health, and outpatient therapy has strengthened my ability to understand complex situations and meet clients where they are. I balance active listening and emotional support with practical strategies, constructive feedback, and gentle challenges when appropriate. My goal is to help clients feel comfortable being themselves while building confidence, improving emotional regulation, and developing tools to navigate life’s challenges.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone navigating life’s challenges and seeking a supportive space to better understand themselves, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. They may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, family conflict, relationship difficulties, or significant life transitions. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families who want to develop healthier coping strategies, improve communication, and build emotional resilience. Whether you’re new to therapy or returning after previous experiences, I welcome clients who are open to exploring their concerns, gaining new perspectives, and working collaboratively toward their personal goals.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, develop healthier perspectives, and practice strategies to manage anxiety, depression, stress, and everyday challenges.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, recognize what’s already working, and take practical steps toward meaningful change. We focus on achievable goals and building confidence in their ability to navigate challenges.
Motivational Interviewing
I incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore their feelings about change, identify personal strengths, and build motivation toward achieving their goals. Through supportive, nonjudgmental conversations, I help clients work through uncertainty, strengthen confidence, and make meaningful decisions that align with their values and overall well-being.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help clients manage difficult emotions, improve communication, tolerate distress, and respond more effectively to stressful situations. These practical tools support emotional regulation and healthier relationships.
