Hi! My name is Carrie and I live in the Greater Houston area of Katy. I received my bachelor’s degree from Houston Christian University, formerly HBU, in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. I began a professional education career, as a teacher, I taught in public and private schools for over a decade. When my younger children were school-aged, I went back to school and received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from The King’s University (TKU) in 2018. During that time, I have worked with many different client populations in many different settings for example private practice, hospitals, and crisis centers. In my spare time, I love spending time with my family (including our pets), entertaining friends, watching movies or traveling to beautiful beachy destinations. Are you struggling with depression, anxiety, or navigating life transitions? Do you feel that you lack purpose, or struggle with your identity? Or perhaps you're facing unique challenges, processing trauma, or seeking support with interpersonal difficulties, stress, self-esteem, or relationship distress? No matter your background, if you're ready to take the first step toward a more fulfilling and emotionally balanced life, Carrie is here to support and empower you in a judgment-free space.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with introductions-getting to know one another, discuss the ground rules for the counseling relationship, then dive into the challenges that you are facing. This will help you and I partner to create a plan just for you in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Clients would describe my sessions as warm and caring, but also direct and encouraging. My goal for each session is to increase the client's self-acceptance, personal growth and self-expression. The second goal for each session is to decrease negative feelings like defensiveness, regret, shame, insecurity, and guilt. Lastly providing the client with greater insight, trust and understanding of oneself.
