Hi, my name is Christina Laborde, LCSW, based out of Florida. I have served active duty and veterans for the last 3 years, however, I have experience working with acute patients, adolescents, civilians, and those who have been incarcerated.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, I like to get to know my clients more in-depth. I would like to know what is going well and what your goals are in therapy. I will explore and help you prioritize your goals in therapy so we can create and target a personalized plan tailored to your unique needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with various populations over the last decade, I can say I provide my clients with a safe and non-judgemental safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings while approaching them with empathy, support, and a sense of accountability. I believe therapy is more than what happens in our time together. It is about taking what is learned in our time together and applying it to your life, while being mindful of noticing small improvements every step in your journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with those who want to improve their well-being and be a better version of themselves every day. I have a passion for exploring the underlying triggers of overwhelming emotions and maladaptive coping skills.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)

I incorporate CBT methods to explore ways our thoughts influence our feelings and actions. Our thoughts have power and what we internalize has a great impact on our lives, through our actions. I will help you explore your thoughts, and assist in challenging those thoughts.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I like to incorporate DBT into my practice to assist those who feel intense emotions in implementing tools such as mindfulness, and distress tolerance skills to improve emotional well-being.
