Hi there! My name is Brooke Elliott and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Since 2018, I’ve worked in various mental health settings helping my community connect with resources that build self-esteem. I have been practicing as an individual therapist since 2021. Growing up with undiagnosed neurodivergence, shame and struggle marked my everyday interactions with my family and the world around me, as well as my view of who I was as a person. I learned what it felt like to be alone with my anxieties because I didn’t have the words to express to others what I was feeling on the inside. Learning that there was a reason for my struggles opened a new world of self-acceptance and empowerment, one that allowed me to take charge of my life and give myself the care I had been missing. Today, I get to work with people who struggle like I did to find a "method to their madness". Together, we'll get rid of the shame that stops you from finding the acceptance you deserve and work towards building a life that fits within your unique needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be a chance for us to get to know each other. We'll cover some brief introductions before exploring what it is that led you to seek therapy and ways in which we can tailor your experience to fit your goals- be they for life, for that big event you're dreading, or to help you express yourself to your partner and everything in between. We'll follow the guidance of evidence-based practices, but rest assured we will also hold space for anything you bring into the session. My goal for every meeting is for you to leave feeling heard and empowered to be your full self!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

After having worked with adults struggling with ADHD over the last three years, I understand that everyone's experiences are unique, and treatment is not necessarily a one-size-fits-all program. I also understand how it feels to be alone in this process. I'm with you the whole way, and we'll work together to build tools that work for you.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I love to use this in my practice because it acknowledges that emotions, even the uncomfortable ones, are only normal- but they don't necessarily have to control the way we move throughout life. By moving forward without judgment and shame, we'll use ACT to explore the truth of our emotions and behaviors, identifying what really makes you tick so that you can live a life you feel fulfilled in.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Sometimes, our internal dialogues change the way we problem-solve. CBT is great at helping us take a look at the relationship between our thoughts, behaviors and moods. We'll use CBT tools to break down and identify our patterns before reframing them.
