Congratulations on taking this first step towards better health! I’m Shira, LPC, CHMC. I have over 17 years of practice in Clinical Counseling Psychology, & Behavioral Health interventions. In my practices of both Evidence Based & Holistic modalities of treatment. I strive to address the wholeness of clients ensuring healing & holistic wellness is fostered in treatment. It is my hope that through our work, the emotional, social and psychological needs as well as concerns of clients are treated with holistic and evidence based interventions.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I would love to partner with you in your life’s lessons, journeys, & opportunities, to heal & grow! It is my hope that your emotional, social, & psychological needs or concerns, are treated thoroughly to enhance & foster positive life outcomes. My goal is to lead you, to your best YOU. Our goal together is better health, greater relationships, & undeniable GROWTH. I wish you well in your ventures further into being the vessel God has formed you to be.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The formula for your treatment is simply awareness, intervention, healing, and wholistic wellness. Channels of various insights & knowledge I have accumulated has been a huge contribution to how I have offered psychoeducation to clients I encounter. Yet mainly, I relate! Life experience has been my best teacher & is likely yours too!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Come as you are! I remain diverse in meeting clients where they are and building a genuine relationship with those I see. On average I see predominantly women and children ages 7-16. I don’t believe in identifying one ideal client. One ideal factor... the desire for help and support.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

This is my most common form of therapy due to the specialized population of women and children.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This is my favorite form of therapy and used for most deep psychotherapy sessions and is often paired with CBT.

Motivational Interviewing

This is the modality used when monitoring the new skills or thought patterns introduced to self assess alongside clients their areas of and for growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

This is my secondary commonly used modality for changing behavior, often used alongside Motivational or Mindfulness.

Christian Counseling

This is not a modality used often as it is only by request but I am proficient in this approach and support.
