I am a licensed master’s level social worker with extensive experience supporting individuals and families as they navigate barriers, build resilience, and move toward healing and growth. I earned my MSW from Wayne State University with a concentration in Psychodynamic Theory, and I am a Certified Trauma Practitioner through Starr Commonwealth. My background includes working with adults as well as children and adolescents (K–12) and their families. I have supported clients experiencing mood disorders, anxiety, ADHD, trauma related to sexual assault or domestic violence, and grief and loss. Across all of my work, I emphasize early intervention grounded in empathy, curiosity, and a deep belief in the strength of the human spirit. My approach is collaborative and client‑centered. I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment where individuals can explore their emotions, develop practical skills, and reconnect with their own capacity for growth. It is an honor to walk alongside clients as they build the tools they need to navigate life’s challenges and move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, we’ll take time to explore what brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping to achieve. This conversation helps me understand your experiences, your strengths, and your goals so we can shape a plan that truly fits you. I believe that therapy is most effective when it aligns with what matters most to you, and my aim is to create a supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your own progress.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I ground my work in a strengths‑focused, empathic approach that honors each person’s inherent resilience and wisdom. I strive to create a warm, safe, and welcoming space where clients can explore their experiences openly and without judgment. It is a privilege to partner with individuals as they recognize and build upon their existing skills, deepen their self‑understanding, and move toward healing, growth, and meaningful change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is an adult or older adult who is moving through a life transition—whether it’s a shift in identity, relationships, health, career, or a new stage of aging. They may be seeking a space to reflect, make meaning, and reconnect with their strengths as they adjust to change. I’m especially drawn to working with individuals who value collaboration, curiosity, and emotional honesty, and who are ready to explore both the challenges and the opportunities that come with each new chapter. Together, we can build insight, resilience, and a sense of grounding as you navigate what comes next.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use the CBT modality of treatment to focus on reframing thoughts to improve your mental outlook for a more positive attitude. CBT can help create new pathways in the brain to reprogram negative thoughts associated with depression.
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic Theory is rooted in factors that contribute to your overall mental health. These factors may be from childhood experiences, relationships or beliefs. By understanding these contributing factors and how they are influencing our current thought patterns, we can address them so they are not causing barriers to our present life.
Trauma-Focused CBT
Trauma-Focused CBT is a short term intervention that focuses on children, adolescents, and their caregivers process traumas and related difficulties. It helps patients develop coping skills to deal with everyday stressors and build a sense of safety.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma Informed Care focuses on creating a welcoming, safe space for those who have experienced trauma. In this safe space, clients can explore how their trauma is affecting them and learn tools to assist them in coping and moving forward through the trauma. I am a Certified Trauma Practitioner through Starr Commonwealth and have found that this modality of treatment can be very beneficial when used as early intervention or even later intervention after a traumatic event.
