Hello and welcome! I'm Shannon and I am so happy that you stopped here. Life in itself can seem very complex, overwhelming at times, difficult to focus and concentrate on certain tasks, and many other obstacles stand in the way of accomplishing various goals. Despite what life may bring, it does not mean that you have to face it alone or without the proper tools to cope with the stressors that life may bring. I can and want to be a part of that support or aid to help you navigate this thing we all call life. I help those who feel like they cannot catch a break from life and not knowing the next step in the process. I work towards helping clients feel safe and comfortable when addressing their needs, and utilizing evidence-based techniques to address the issue(s) at hand. I do not see people for their issues but as their entire person, to address their needs that are hindering them at the moment. If you are up for working together as a team to help rebuild, restart, or reclaim, your life as you see fit, let us work towards that common goal.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I would have to say two of the biggest strengths that I have are time and patience. When someone seeks therapy, some may feel embarrassed or ashamed, which can cause an additional issue towards seeking help. When I interact with a client and develop rapport, I meet the clients where they are emotionally and their communication status. I do not force anything on anyone, but reassure someone of taking the large problem, breaking it into smaller steps/issues and focusing on what is identified at that time.
I have had experience with various clients throughout my career, but I am eager to work with individuals that want to improve, but don't yet have the tools needed to make this goal a reality. They often feel stuck, overwhelmed and anxious about their careers, lives, or other obstacles they may be facing.

I have been using CBT since 2016 and it has helped clients that I have worked with identify their feelings and challenge them, so it can change their negative thought processes and thinking into more positive aspects of thought. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will promote a less stressful life and increase positive behavioral patterns and thoughts.
