Hi, I’m Anna, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Indiana. Reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, and taking that first step is often one of the hardest parts. Finding a counselor who feels safe, supportive, and easy to connect with is an important part of the process. I have over six years of experience working with children and adolescents facing a wide range of challenges, including self-esteem concerns, anxiety, depression, behavioral difficulties, school-related stress, and navigating relationships with peers, siblings, and parents. Growing up comes with unique pressures and emotions, and I strive to create a space where young people feel heard, understood, and supported. Sometimes having someone alongside you—someone who listens without judgment, offers encouragement, and helps build healthy coping skills—can make a meaningful difference. I would be honored to support you and your family on the journey toward growth, resilience, and greater emotional well-being.
Our first session is designed to be a comfortable and supportive introduction where we can get to know one another and begin building a positive therapeutic relationship. During this time, I’ll ask questions about current concerns, daily life, and what you and your child are hoping to gain from counseling. A parent or guardian will be involved in this initial session to provide background information, discuss concerns, and help establish goals for treatment. After the intake session, counseling sessions will primarily be between myself and the client in order to encourage trust, openness, and independence within the therapeutic process. There may be occasions when parents or other family members are invited to join sessions if it would be beneficial, though this is not typically part of regular sessions. The initial session is approximately one hour long and allows us to explore current challenges, past experiences, strengths, and areas of growth. It is also an opportunity for everyone involved to determine whether the therapeutic relationship feels like a good fit moving forward.
I strive to create a space that feels comfortable, relaxed, and open. My approach is laid-back and collaborative, with sessions flowing more like a conversation than something overly structured. You are at the center of this process, and together we’ll focus on what feels most important and meaningful to you. My role is to walk alongside you—to listen with care, offer support, and gently guide you toward new perspectives when it feels helpful. I believe growth happens in both insight and action, so we’ll also work on building skills that support you in your everyday life. If it feels right for you, I can share resources, tools, or worksheets to help you continue that growth between sessions, always at a pace that feels comfortable and manageable.
I primarily work with children and adolescents who are navigating a variety of life challenges and emotional concerns. This includes supporting young people who may be struggling with self-esteem, anxiety, school-related stress, peer relationships, emotional regulation, and behavioral concerns. My focus is always on helping each child feel understood, supported, and empowered while developing healthy coping skills and confidence. I recognize that every child’s experiences and needs are unique. Therapy is tailored to meet them where they are developmentally and emotionally, while creating a safe, supportive environment where they can express themselves openly and build resilience. I also work closely with parents and caregivers when appropriate, helping strengthen communication, increase understanding of behavioral or emotional concerns, and support positive growth both at home and in school settings. I am committed to providing an inclusive, compassionate, and affirming space where children and families feel respected, supported, and encouraged throughout the therapeutic process.

My approach to treatment is individualized, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to provide support that is both practical and meaningful. Some of the techniques and interventions I incorporate include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, life skills development, emotional regulation strategies, and self-esteem building. I am committed to ongoing professional growth and continuing education so I can provide current, effective, and compassionate care. I believe healing and personal growth involve the whole person—emotional, mental, and physical well-being—and that lasting change happens when these areas are supported in a balanced and healthy way.

She seems to have a different way at looking at things. Even when I think they may be negative she turns it into a positive for me. She is very knowledgeable and has a lot of ideas on how to turn things around and make better choices. I enjoy our talks and our meetings. I highly recommend her!

She was very intuitive and had great resource references for me to look into and try. She asked questions and got me thinking about my perspective on things. Can't wait to see what the next meeting brings!
