Hi! I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) who manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, ADHD, school issues, bipolar and trauma. I am passionate about providing quality, compassionate, and comprehensive mental health services to adolescents and adults. I completed my Master of Nursing at Maryville University. I possess strong clinical skills and a natural ability to build rapport with clients and their families. In addition to medication management, I incorporate cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), culturally sensitive therapy, faith-based therapy, motivational interviewing, and person-centered techniques into treatment.
In our ver first session together, you will be in the driver seat. I will actively listen and engage with you to learn key elements of your current challenges. At the first session and throughout treatment, we will work to develop personalized solutions, that remain in touch to who you are at your core.
As an individual that has prior personal experience dealing with trauma, stress, and anxiety. I know how important it is to be placed at the driver's set of your care. I will make sure that care is personalized and catered to each individual.
I love working with clients who are on their journey to being their best selves. I am not a stranger to challenges. I am confident that I would be able to support the needs of individuals on their journey to gain new perspectives and techniques that will allow them to cope with whatever they may be challenged with.
I have been using CBT in my practice for the past 2 years. It helps to reconstruct reoccurring negative thoughts and helps to reduce and manage anxiety. We will use CBT to understand current thoughts, feelings, and behavior patterns, to help restructure these thoughts.
Faith-based counseling provides emotional and spiritual support that can help you deal with a wide variety of issues. It comes in many forms, but it is always rooted in the spiritual or religious principles of the person or organization providing it.
