Brittany earned her Bachelor's and Master's of Social Work degrees from Belhaven University and The University of Southern Mississippi, respectively. Brittany is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and is licensed to practice clinical therapy in Texas, Georgia, Florida and New Jersey. Brittany’s prior population experience includes private practice, emergency medical psychiatric care, crisis intervention, inner-city enrichment and the provision of community mental health services to marginalized youth, adults, and families-including children and families involved with state social services, foster care and adoption, and group home settings. Brittany enjoys working with diverse populations, pursues diversity, equity and inclusion work, and deeply values the role and importance of culture and impact of racism on systems, families, and individuals. Brittany finds meaning and purpose through her Christian faith but is able to meet each individual where they are on a full spectrum of faith/spirituality issues.
The goal of the first session is an intake to determine whether I am an appropriate fit as a therapist for you. We will review the intake forms and discuss reasons for seeking therapy to determine broad goals for treatment.
Brittany believes that a safe, trusting relationship is the pathway to healing. She sees the therapeutic process as a collaborative effort in helping clients achieve their goals. She takes a holistic approach and explores the influence of society, relationships, the family system, spirituality/faith, & social and physical wellbeing on mental health experiences. Brittany is skilled in building interpersonal relationships, relaying empathy and compassion, and meeting each individual where they are in order to assist where they want or need to go. She looks forward to knowing you and is honored to be considered as part of your healing.
Brittany is best positioned to work with young adults (18-25) at this time who are seeking assistance navigating college, careers, relationships, communication, and other necessary life skills and transitions.
