Unique Minds Psychiatry The Women’s Depression & Anxiety Clinic Hello, I'm Tasha Hill- Wilson, a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with two decades of experience in healthcare. I am passionate about helping Women with mental health challenges. My journey has taken me through various roles, from inpatient care to telehealth, where I've been dedicated to making a difference in people's lives. I am the owner and provider of Unique Minds Psychiatry-The Women’s Depression & Anxiety Clinic. Mental health conditions such as depression and anxiety can affect anyone at any time. However, it is important to understand that Women are particularly susceptible to these mental health challenges and are likely to experience depression and anxiety more than men. Researchers have known for years that Women are about twice as likely to be diagnosed with depression as men, with depression being the leading cause of disease burden among Women. The same is true for anxiety, with anxiety generally being considered more prevalent and potentially more severe in Women compared to men.
Clients can expect to be openly engaged in their own care. I believe in actively involving client engagement to promote stabilization, self-care, accountability, and overall wellness.
The way I approach mental health and wellness is holistic. This means I use an integrative approach to assist clients with mental wellness. Using an integrative approach, I focus on lifestyle changes, medication management, and acceptance/mindfulness. Other aspects of treatment include: Adequate nutrition (including supplemental nutrition if necessary) Exercise Self-care/Self-love Stress reduction (protecting mental health is key) Supportive therapy Positive relationships & Social interactions (Stay connected) Physiological considerations such as adequate rest and sleep

The way I approach mental health and wellness is holistic. This means I use an integrative approach to assist clients with mental wellness. I provide supportive therapy for my clients to assist them with any daily challenges or stressors they may be facing in their lives. Although I provide medication management, I feel it is imperative that my clients understand that I am dedicated to their overall well-being by empathizing with them and supporting them with their mental illness or emotional difficulties. Many times, when individuals do not feel well mentally it is challenging for them to see the bigger picture and move forward in a positive way. Providing supportive therapy not only assists them with managing their mental health, but it also helps them manage their lives so that they can start feeling better. Thus, supportive therapy is a modality that I find extremely helpful with helping people heal and stabilize after dealing with bouts of depression and other mental turmoil.
I encourage my clients to participate in mindfulness because I personally find it to be very effective and therapeutic. Often in life we are so busy working or trying to complete our daily task that we forget to just stop and smell the roses. There is a beautiful world around us that we barely notice because we are too busy. Practicing meditation/mindfulness teaches us to be patient, not only with others, but with ourselves. It teaches us to be fully present and aware in the moment, and not overly reactive or overwhelmed with daily issues or activities. It teaches us to instead be aware of ourselves and the inner workings of our mental, emotional, and physical processes. It also teaches us to not only give ourselves grace, but to also give ourselves what we need most of all. Love.
I use ACT as a treatment modality for my clients because we are not what we think. It is important for clients to understand that the thoughts they have in their minds does not determine who they are, what they do, and how they feel. I utilize ACT to help my clients learn to separate themselves from their thoughts and accept their unpleasant emotions. I have found ACT to be therapeutic with my clients because it assists them with better approaches to identify thoughts, feelings, and emotions, so that they have less effect on their everyday lives.
