Hello! I'm Dr. Ben, your dedicated healthcare partner with nearly two decades of expertise in psychiatric care. I am a board-certified Psychiatry Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and the owner of Balanced Life Behavioral Health and Counseling Services, LLC. I provide a non-judgmental, respectful space where you and your family are heard, understood, and supported. I do this by using an evidence-based treatment approach to tailor an individualized treatment plan for each client. I strive to provide the highest-quality, integrated mental health services to my clients. I am licensed in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. What makes my service unique is my Keen listening ability and also the ability to understand all members' stories with a non-judgmental approach. The services I provide are meant to enhance and improve the quality of life of those I serve. I strive to restore and promote sound minds through counseling, psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy, thus enhancing individual optimum functioning

First session
In our first session together, I determine the client's presenting issues, usually gathering background information, where I will obtain a comprehensive overview of their personal history, including their current symptoms, past mental health concerns, medical history, family history, social and occupational functioning, and any significant life events or stressors.
Strengths
Communication which encompasses listening is one of my biggest strengths. As a seasoned provider I bring compassionate, comprehensive, and patient-centered care. Also, my other big strength lies in the ability of uncovering the events that led to the current stressors/reason for visit.
