I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner specializing in medication management with supportive, brief psychotherapy when helpful. My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative—I use techniques like motivational interviewing and cognitive therapy to help clients better understand themselves, gain clarity, and create meaningful, lasting change. I enjoy working with teens and adults facing stress, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions, and I’m dedicated to providing a supportive space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and empowered as you move forward in your healing journey.

I’m a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) serving clients in Texas and Washington State, with over 20 years of nursing experience and 5 years as a PMHNP.

First session

During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know your story, what’s been weighing on you, and what you’d like to see improve. I’ll ask questions about your symptoms, daily life, and any past treatment experiences so we can create a plan that truly fits your needs. You can expect a supportive, down-to-earth conversation where you’re welcome to share openly and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. By the end of the visit, you’ll leave with a clear next step—whether that means starting or adjusting medication, connecting with therapy support, or combining both.

Strengths

What makes my approach different is the balance of professional expertise and genuine care I bring to every session. As a board-certified nurse practitioner with years of experience, I understand that mental health affects both the mind and body. My greatest strengths include helping clients feel comfortable quickly, explaining medications in a clear and practical way, and using supportive therapy techniques that encourage lasting growth and real change. Clients often tell me they feel truly listened to, supported without judgment, and more confident about taking the next step in their healing journey.

Ideal clients

I provide evening and weekend appointment to meet the needs of working professionals and students. I love working with kids having challenges at school with their school work or behaviors. I provide evaluation to determine what they are struggling with and give them tools to succeed. I believe in a holistic approach and will educated you about your condition, provide treatment options, and lifestyle changes to achieve your recovery goals. I have worked with clients of all ages with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive and compulsive disorder (OCD), ADHD, psychosis, alcohol and other substance use disorders, eating disorders, insomnia among many mental health disorders.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I find CBT, also known as “talk therapy,” to be incredibly empowering because it helps clients recognize and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, underlying beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors. Through this process, clients can build healthier coping skills, navigate life’s stressors with greater confidence, and move toward meaningful personal growth and goals.

Faith-based therapy

I incorporate evidence-based psychological approaches alongside faith-based values for clients who desire spiritual support as part of their healing journey. For many people, faith provides strength, hope, purpose, and a sense of connection during difficult seasons of life. Integrating these values into therapy can help clients process pain, navigate crises, strengthen resilience, and reconnect with their identity and beliefs. My goal is to create a supportive space where emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being can work together to promote healing, peace, and lasting personal growth.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing because many clients already have the desire to change, but may feel stuck, uncertain, or overwhelmed about how to begin. This approach helps gently explore ambivalence, strengthen internal motivation, and connect actions to personal values and goals. Rather than telling clients what to do, I work collaboratively with them to uncover their own reasons for change, which often leads to more sustainable and meaningful progress. It creates a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to take steps at their own pace.
