I am very eclectic in my approach to therapy and I weigh heavily on the relationship between my client and myself. I have found that the stronger rapport, the easier it is to build trust and move forward through uncomfortable moments. In addition to my direct communication style, I also like to use humor to help clients feel at ease and encourage openness.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I try my best to ensure my clients are always comfortable. Your first session with me is usually for general information gathering and you sharing what you feel is your presenting concern. Together, we determine if I am best suited for you and establish how you would like to move forward. There is no pressure to say, do or be anything other than your authentic self.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a provider, I believe that our experiences shape us in how we connect with our clients. I try my best to sit in a space of understanding and assist with establishing your goals. My experience in working with many different populations has provided me insight to concerns that are seen and sometimes unseen. It is my goal to make sure that you see in yourself the possibility of healing and resilience.

I have experience in working with adults and adolescents that have experienced trauma, anxiety and depression. Most of my clients that I have supported have been uncomfortable with their daily lifestyle and are seeking to make active changes to improve their quality of life.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is one of the most common modalities that I utilize when learning to manage behavior and thought patterns. This modality is suitable for many conditions however, I have seen great progress in treatment for anxiety, depression and OCD.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT can be utilized in conjunction with most other modalities. As a clinician, I like to incorporate this modality to establish a positive belief system of oneself.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As a Hispanic/LatinX clinician I have learned the value of being seen and seeing others. I take pride in establishing rapport and understanding my client's cultural background to support them in achieving their goals.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing therapy has proven to be one of the most effective treatments for trauma. As a trauma specialist, I have been certified in EMDR in order to address the complications of trauma and how it affects the body and mind.

Eclectic

My theory of practice is to utilize all modalities that are appropriate for my client. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, narrative therapy and interfamily systems therapy in order to meet the needs of my clients.
