I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a wife, mother, grandmother, and Christian African American woman with a deep passion for helping others heal and grow. I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families who have experienced trauma, life transitions, or emotional challenges. Using a person-centered, culturally responsive, and faith-based approach, I help my clients explore their stories, build resilience, and reconnect with their purpose. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where healing and transformation can begin.
At our first session, you can expect a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space. I lead with compassion, curiosity, and a listening ear. Together, we’ll explore what brought you here and begin to unpack what you hope to gain from therapy. You’ll feel heard, seen, and respected. I’ll gently guide you through questions that help you begin identifying patterns, pain points, and goals. Whether you're bringing faith into the process or just seeking healing, we’ll move at your pace.
My greatest strengths lie in my ability to connect deeply with people from all walks of life, especially those who’ve faced adversity. My lived experience, spiritual foundation, and professional training allow me to counsel with empathy, discernment, and cultural awareness. I bring authenticity, honesty, and warmth into every session. I blend faith-based wisdom with evidence-based tools like CBT and solution-focused therapy to help clients heal, grow, and thrive.
I’m best suited to walk alongside individuals who have experienced trauma, whether in childhood or adulthood—especially those who grew up in environments affected by addiction, abuse, neglect, or instability. I work well with clients who are navigating identity issues, relationship challenges, grief, depression, anxiety, or spiritual struggles. I also support women at all stages of life—young mothers, single mothers, grandmothers, and women rediscovering themselves after caregiving or major life transitions. Additionally, I serve individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those facing homelessness or system-involvement. My background makes me especially effective with those who feel unheard, misunderstood, or marginalized.
Eclectic therapy is sometimes referred to as multi-modal or integrative therapy as therapists combine a variety of disciplines into one session.
Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a collaborative, client-centered approach designed to strengthen a person’s own motivation and commitment to change. It’s especially helpful for individuals who feel ambivalent or unsure about making changes in areas like substance use, health behaviors, or relationships. Through open-ended questions, affirmations, reflective listening, and gentle guidance, MI helps clients explore their values, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward their goals—all at their own pace and without pressure.
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFBT) is a short-term, goal-oriented approach that focuses on finding solutions rather than dwelling on problems. It helps clients identify their strengths, resources, and what’s already working in their lives. In session, we explore small, realistic steps that move clients toward their desired future. This approach builds confidence, encourages change, and helps clients gain a sense of control and hope—especially when facing challenges like life transitions, relationship issues, or feeling stuck.
An approach that helps clients become more aware of their thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations in the present moment without judgment. It combines traditional talk therapy with mindfulness practices like deep breathing, body scans, music and meditation. This approach supports emotional regulation, reduces stress, and helps clients respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity and calm. It’s especially effective for anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic stress.
Faith-based therapy integrates spiritual beliefs—particularly Christian values and biblical principles—into the counseling process to support emotional and spiritual healing. It acknowledges that faith plays a vital role in a person’s identity, coping, and recovery. In sessions, clients are invited (but never pressured) to incorporate prayer, Scripture, and spiritual reflection alongside evidence-based therapeutic techniques. This approach helps individuals find strength, hope, and direction through God’s Word while working through life’s struggles such as grief, anxiety, trauma, or relationship issues.
