“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved”, said by Winnie the Pooh. Therapy is a journey, and everyone’s path will be different. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who enjoys working with children, teenagers, and adults. I received both of my master’s degrees at University of Pennsylvania in 2016 and 2017. I strive to develop an integrative and holistic strategy to individualize client’s needs with several different approaches to help them reach their goals. If you are seeking the strength in your authentic self, ability to handle "imperfections" and "insecurities" with unconditional love, and create structures for multilayered emotions, I am here to help you make your first step to start your journey of change! “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think”.
*Getting to know each other! I believe that the core of therapy lies in human interactions. I want to get to know you as a person, not just your diagnosis and symptoms. *Complete intake evaluation to review background information. Just like meeting with your PCP for the first time, the full physical exam helps your provider get to know you and your concerns in a comprehensive and efficient way. *Discuss confidentiality and your rights. *Review expectations, boundaries, and structure of therapy treatment. *Answer questions you may have about your therapist and/or therapy treatment. *Schedule next appointment.
I strive to develop an integrative and holistic strategy to individualize client’s needs with several different approaches to help them reach their goals. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in order to help clients set clear and realistic goals to work on changing maladaptive thoughts and behavioral patterns. I implement Person Centered approach that allows my clients and I to work as a team and establish a trusting relationship. Lastly, there are elements of Strength Focused Therapy to ensure that my clients can harvest progress and success on their own and develop confidence that they can take into every aspect of their lives.
I believe in incorporating an emphasis on multiculturalism to each approach to help clients from different racial, religious, and cultural backgrounds process and work on life struggles in ways that respect their values and beliefs. Patient’s feelings, requirements, and suggestions are always included during the entire course of treatment, from developing treatment plans to identifying goals, evaluating progress, and when and how to terminate treatment. Staying open-minded and being willing to learn from clients are always crucial to positive treatment outcomes. Coming to therapy takes a lot! Therefore, as a therapist, I try to be as flexible as possible while remaining professional, either with setting up recurring appointments or working on scheduling.
