Hi there, I'm Tonya Bunch. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 7+ years experience serving the community. I help high performers, emotional suffering, and trauma survivors to manage burnout, and learn emotion regulation, mindfulness, and recovery in trauma. Together we will work to identify what is working and what is not working for you to help balance your life. We will use a person-centered approach to balance your mind, body, spirit and environment. I love using strength-based and mindfulness to help you learn that you have the coping skills to manage your struggles. Whether you are seeking help for anxiety, depression, trauma or relationship issues, I am here to help. Seeking therapy is scary and taking the first step is the hardest. I am here to support you nonjudgmentally, no matter the issue. You are making the right choice. I give you the space and time to build a therapeutic relationship to reach your goals. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I will meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits that have been holding you back. Let's work together!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

The first session is an intake/assessment. This is to get to know you better and develop a personalized treatment plan. Once that is completed the first session is a mood check-in. We discuss your issues and work on any observations of concerns. I may ask what was a good part/not so good part of your week as well. I may recommend practice assignments or apps to use to assist you in building your healthy "coping" toolbox.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I specialize in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Process Therapy (CPT). I love working with clients who are struggling with trauma and emotional suffering. I understand how difficult it is to ask for help in these two areas and I am here for you. I help you keep on track with either DBT, CPT, or other evidence-based therapy. I am here with you during the difficult times to carry you through and help you gain your new coping skills. I look at it as we are a team, you are doing the work, and I am here to guide you. This is hard work and I know you can do it! I have seen it done and it is amazing. You are worth it. You can learn how to regulate your emotions, build healthy relationships, cope with stressful moments, and manage your recovery from trauma, relationship issues, career struggles, anxiety and/or depression.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

I have had success with helping clients learn how to cope with their trauma. I use CPT for client hmwho have PTSD and are struggling to find balance in their life. I work with clients to learn new ways of thinking about their trauma and how to manage trauma triggers on a day to day basis. We will use practice assignments which do not take long to help you become your own "mini-therapist."

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use DBT to help clients balance their emotions, learn how to communicate effectively and mange their crisis by learning skills in modules, including mindfulness. We work as a team; I am gentle and "real" when needed. I also use humor when appropriate. I love DBT by watching my clients grow using these skills and learning who they are. It is amazing!

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used throughout most of my practice to help clients learn how challenge their thoughts. This has been positive for my clients to learn to change negative thinking, with anxiety, depression and PTSD.

Grief Therapy

I have helped clients work through their grief by understanding when to be silent and allowing the client to guide me through their grief. I also, have brought their special moments with their loved one to help them express emotions in a safe space.
