My treatment methods

Family Therapy

Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) is a therapeutic intervention designed to restore and strengthen the healthy relationship between a child and their caregiver. This approach is particularly beneficial in addressing trauma, attachment issues, and emotional disturbances in children. By fostering a secure bond between the child and the parent, CPP aims to create a stable and supportive environment that promotes healing and growth.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, commonly referred to as CBT, is a widely recognized and effective form of psychotherapy that addresses dysfunctional emotions, behaviors, and cognitions through a goal-oriented, systematic process. I like to think of it as logic training.

Couples Counseling

Using the Gottman Principles of Couples Counseling, I work with you and your partner to increase positive communication and connection, strengthen intimacy, and understand the perspectives that lead to conflict.

Psychoeducation

Psychoeducation therapy is a therapeutic approach that involves educating individuals about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies. It aims to empower patients by providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their conditions effectively. This form of therapy is often used alongside other therapeutic interventions to enhance treatment outcomes and promote long-term recovery.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a comprehensive cognitive-behavioral treatment that addresses a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and substance abuse. DBT combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness.
