New to Grow
Hello, I'm Tom. Our lives are shaped by significant people and experiences that influence our attachment, mindset, and worldview. Some of these experiences are positive, while others can be painful; both types leave a lasting impression that affects our identity, self-esteem, and sense of purpose. I aim to walk alongside my clients as they seek meaning in these relationships and experiences. I provide a compassionate space where I can meet my clients where they are, fostering an authentic therapeutic relationship. I specialize in working with individuals, couples, and teenagers. My approach is eclectic and strengths-based, focusing on issues related to attachment, trauma, anxiety, and depression, as well as challenging behavior, parenting, divorce recovery, and Christian counseling. Additionally, I have expertise in addressing ADHD, family relationships, intimate and romantic relationships, sex and intimacy issues, stress, and spirituality. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with a Master of Arts (MA) degree, I bring both professional knowledge and personal commitment to our sessions. It is an honor for me to accompany you on your journey to healing from the past, navigating the present, and fostering lasting change for the future. If you’re ready to take the next step, I am here to support you every step of the way.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. It allows you time to reflect on why you are seeking treatment and to identify your goals. This initial session, known as the intake session, is important for insurance purposes as it gathers background information about you and helps establish a treatment plan.
I'm a therapist who strongly believes in establishing a non-judgmental therapeutic relationship. I'm less clinical and more relational than many therapists.
My dream client would be a Christian male or female who needs assistance working through attachment issues or childhood trauma. Also, anyone who is struggling with spiritual questions or relationship issues. Many of my clients just need someone to talk with on a weekly basis to assist them with routine life challenges (relationship conflict, finances, unemployment, divorce, depression, child-rearing, etc.).

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I believe that our behavior comes out of our thinking or core belief system. If we want to change our behavior, we need to address our thinking or core belief system. CBT will help do that.
