I specialize in helping adults heal from trauma, depression, anxiety, and stress that’s built up over time. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and focused on getting to the root of what’s holding you back. We’ll explore patterns, build healthier boundaries, and reconnect you with your inner peace. I integrate talk therapy with somatic tools, trauma therapy, mindfulness, and culturally aware care to support your healing in a way that feels safe, empowering, and authentic to you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what’s bringing you to therapy, your goals, and any relevant history you feel comfortable sharing. This is a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out, just come as you are. My focus is on creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, supported, and respected. Together, we’ll start building a foundation for the work ahead, at a pace that feels right for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my deep empathy, cultural sensitivity, and ability to hold space for complex emotions without judgment. I help clients feel seen and safe; especially those who have suppressed or feel disconnected from their true self. I’m skilled at identifying patterns, getting to the root of emotional pain, and guiding clients toward lasting healing with warmth, clarity, and care.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

You are tired of being strong. You're the one many look to for support (i.e. the caretaker, the high achiever, the peacekeeper) yet you feel invisible, overburdened, or emotionally exhausted. You may be navigating trauma, anxiety, burnout, people-pleasing, or depression that creeps in quietly but weighs heavy. You often high-functioning on the outside but overwhelmed inside. You are looking for relief, but more than that, you're looking for restoration. You want to feel like yourself again... or maybe, for the first time, finally discover who that self truly is. You crave peace of mind, more ease in your relationships, better boundaries, and the courage to prioritize yourself without guilt. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck between what they should do and what they need. They want to stop overthinking, start healing, and learn how to be softer with themselves. My clients aren’t broken... they’re worn down from carrying too much alone. What they really want is to feel seen, understood, and supported while they do the brave work of healing. I help them get there.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and emotional distress. Together, we look at the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors so you can understand how certain beliefs (often rooted in past experiences) are shaping your present. In my practice, CBT is never one-size-fits-all. I adapt it to fit your lived experience and personal goals. We might explore thought distortions like catastrophizing or people-pleasing, then practice reframing those thoughts and developing more supportive inner dialogue. I often integrate CBT with mindfulness, somatic awareness, and cultural insight to create a healing process that’s both structured and emotionally attuned.

Mind-body approach

I take a mind-body approach to healing, which means I don’t just focus on thoughts—we also pay attention to what your body is holding. Many clients carry stress, trauma, and emotional pain physically, even if they can’t always name it. I help you build awareness of sensations like tension, fatigue, or restlessness and what those signals might be trying to tell you. Through grounding exercises, breathwork, and somatic tools, we create space for your nervous system to settle and for deeper healing to unfold. This approach supports emotional regulation, trauma recovery, and a stronger connection to your intuition and inner wisdom.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Culturally sensitive therapy means I honor the impact of your identity, culture, and lived experiences in the healing process. I recognize that mental health doesn’t exist in a vacuum, it’s shaped by race, gender, family systems, intergenerational trauma, and systemic oppression. In our work, you won’t need to explain or defend your identity. I create space that affirms your truth and centers your voice. I’m especially attuned to the needs of Black, Brown, LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized clients who may be navigating stress, invisibility, or internalized messages tied to culture. Together, we’ll explore how cultural and ancestral narratives have shaped you, and how to reclaim a version of self that feels whole, empowered, and free.

Collaborative Management and Assessment of Suicidality (CAMS)

I am trained and certified in CAMS, ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training), SAMA (Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression), and CALM (Counseling on Access to Lethal Means). With experience as a crisis first responder, I provide trauma-informed, safety-focused care for individuals navigating acute distress, suicidal ideation, or emotional crises. I work collaboratively to create personalized safety plans, reduce risk, and build coping strategies that empower clients to regain a sense of control and stability.

Narrative

I use Narrative Therapy to explore inner childhood wounds, or to help clients explore and reshape the stories that have shaped their identity—stories rooted in trauma, culture, family roles, or societal expectations. Together, we examine how those narratives impact self-worth, relationships, and choices, and we work to rewrite them in ways that feel more empowered, authentic, and aligned with who they truly are.
