New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) who earned a Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Old Dominion University in 2023. I completed both my internship and residency in community mental health, experiences in which shaped my passion for working with adults navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship challenges. Through this work, I developed a strong commitment to providing a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their values, establish healthy boundaries, strengthen coping skills, and promote overall wellbeing.
Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, supportive therapeutic relationship. During this session, we will discuss what brings you to therapy, any current challenges or stressors you may be experiencing, and the goals you hope to achieve through counseling. You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with at this stage. We will also review important information such as confidentiality, informed consent, and expectations for the counseling process. I may ask questions about your personal history, relationships, emotional wellbeing, coping strategies, and areas of concern to gain a better understanding of your experiences and needs. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we will identify meaningful goals, explore your values, strengthen healthy boundaries, and develop tools to support your overall wellbeing and personal growth.
What stands out about my therapeutic approach is my emphasis on collaboration, clarity, and helping clients translate insight into meaningful, real-life change. I provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where adults can explore what they are experiencing—whether it is stress, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, or life transitions—while also working toward practical and sustainable growth. My approach is rooted in helping clients identify their personal values and use those values as a foundation for decision-making, boundary setting, and overall wellbeing. I focus on strengthening self-awareness and developing coping strategies that are realistic and applicable to everyday life, rather than feeling overwhelming or abstract.
I enjoy working with adults navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, and/or relationship challenges who are seeking greater clarity, balance, and fulfillment in their lives. I am passionate about supporting individuals as they explore and identify their personal values, develop and maintain healthy boundaries, and build practical tools to manage stress and emotional difficulties. Together, we work toward fostering self-awareness, resilience, healthier relationships, and overall wellbeing in a way that aligns with each person’s unique goals and authentic sense of self.
Other specialties
I identify as
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I have experience supporting clients in identifying what matters most to them — such as family, health, stability, independence, growth, and/or meaningful relationships — and then exploring whether their current habits and coping strategies align with those values. Using principles from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I help clients increase psychological flexibility, recognize unhelpful thought patterns without becoming overwhelmed by them, and take actions that support the life they want to create. A key part of my approach is promoting internal cohesion: helping clients feel more connected between their thoughts, emotions, values, and behaviors. I encourage mindfulness, emotional regulation, and reflective exercises that help clients respond intentionally rather than react impulsively. This often leads to improved self-confidence, reduced distress, and a greater sense of purpose and balance.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support clients in developing healthier thinking patterns, improving emotional wellbeing, and creating behaviors that are consistent with their personal values and goals. My approach is collaborative, strengths-based, and focused on helping clients build greater self-awareness and internal consistency. In practice, I work with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns, core beliefs, and behavioral habits that may contribute to stress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or difficulty coping with life transitions. Through CBT techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, problem-solving, and self-monitoring, clients learn to challenge distorted thinking and replace it with more balanced, realistic perspectives.
