New to Grow
Hello, I’m Jamie Harrison, a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting children (6+), teens, adults, couples, and families as they navigate anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and relationship challenges. I provide a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to begin creating meaningful change. I work with clients who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to start, but are ready to better understand themselves and move toward growth. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, strengthening coping skills, improving communication, and addressing patterns that may be keeping you from feeling your best. My approach is collaborative and grounded in evidence-based practices, allowing us to tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals. Whether you’re working through past experiences, navigating life transitions, or looking to improve your relationships, I help you develop practical tools you can use in your daily life. If we work together, you can expect to gain greater clarity, confidence, and emotional stability. Many of my clients experience improved relationships, healthier boundaries, and a stronger sense of self. My goal is to help you not only manage current challenges but also build resilience and skills that support long-term well-being and a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, supportive foundation. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, any current challenges you’re facing, and what you hope to gain from the process. I may ask questions about your background, relationships, and overall well-being to better understand your unique experiences. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we move at your pace. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and respected. By the end of the session, we’ll begin identifying goals and discuss how we can work together moving forward. You can also ask any questions to ensure you feel confident and supported in starting your therapy journey.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I take a collaborative and personalized approach, tailoring therapy to each client’s unique needs rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed care to help clients not only process their experiences but also develop practical tools for everyday life. I am especially skilled in helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen communication in their relationships. Clients often appreciate my balance of compassion and directness—I will support you while also gently challenging patterns that may be keeping you stuck. My goal is to help you gain clarity, build confidence, and create lasting, meaningful change so you can feel more in control, connected, and balanced in your life.
I provide therapy for individuals ages 6 and up, as well as couples and families, who are experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, anger, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. I am best positioned to support clients who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or caught in unhelpful patterns and are seeking meaningful, lasting change. With children and adolescents, treatment focuses on emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, and developing effective coping skills to manage school, social, and family-related stressors. With adults, I support those experiencing burnout, life transitions, negative thought patterns, and unresolved past experiences by incorporating cognitive and behavioral strategies, emotional processing, and skill-building to improve overall functioning and well-being. In couples counseling, I focus on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and strengthening connection while helping partners navigate conflict in a healthier, more productive way. In family therapy, I work to reduce conflict, improve communication patterns, and strengthen relationships within the family system by fostering understanding, respect, and collaboration. My approach is ideal for those seeking both a supportive space and practical tools to build emotional stability, increase self-awareness, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that impact emotions and behaviors. Together, we build awareness of these patterns and develop practical strategies to reframe thinking, improve coping, and create meaningful, lasting change in daily life.
Couples Counseling
I work with couples to improve communication, rebuild trust, and navigate conflict in a constructive way. My approach focuses on helping partners feel heard and understood while developing tools to strengthen connection and create a more supportive, fulfilling relationship.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In my practice, I incorporate DBT skills to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and healthier relationships. I help clients learn how to manage intense emotions, stay present, and respond to challenges in more balanced and effective ways.
Family Therapy
In family therapy, I help improve communication patterns, reduce conflict, and strengthen relationships within the family system. I work collaboratively with family members to better understand one another and create a more supportive and respectful home environment.
Trauma-Focused CBT
I use TF-CBT to help clients process and heal from traumatic experiences in a safe and structured way. This approach combines coping skills, emotional regulation, and gradual processing of trauma to reduce distress and support long-term healing.
