Adrienne Aguiar
Hi! My name is Adrienne Aguiar (she/her) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I graduated CSU Channel Islands in 2016 with my BA in Psychology and then attended CLU and obtained my MS in Clinical Psychology in 2018 I completed my MS in Counseling Psychology (MFT) in 2021. I have always been a “helper” and knew I was destined to be a therapist.
First session
In our first session, I will introduce myself and provide you with any psyhcoeducation surrounding the therapeutic journey. I will also provide you with time to ask me any questions about myself and how I may work with people. I will also do an intake, where I ask you many questions about you, your history, and goals for your future.
Strengths
I have been treating eating disorders for several years and have worked in all levels of care. I have experience with highly motivated clients and clients who are unsure about recovery. I meet my clients were they are, while also still challenging them and encouraging them to do their best.

I believe in making room for compassion, patience, and grace as you heal. Through this work, we focus on understanding your struggles—not judging them—so you can begin to treat yourself with the same care you deserve.

We clarify your values and use them to guide your actions, helping you move toward a more meaningful and sustainable recovery—even in the presence of difficult thoughts and feelings.

With an attachment-based approach, we also explore how relationships and early experiences shape your sense of safety, connection, and self-worth—supporting more secure and supportive ways of relating to yourself and others.
