LeAnn Bastien
I have been in your shoes...knowing you should talk to someone but scared to open up to a complete stranger. Afraid of being judged? When looking for my own therapist, I looked for a therapist that acts like a real person without all the therapy jargon...someone who sees me as a person and not another client...someone who makes me feel heard.
My strengths lie in my ability to listen actively, providing a safe and empathetic space for you to express yourself without judgment.
If that is what you are looking for, you are in the right place. I provide counseling in a non-judgemental and supportive space where you feel safe to talk about your struggles as we work together to overcome the barriers preventing you from getting where you want to be. And we do it all in a self-paced format.
First session
In the first session, I will get to know you and what you want to achieve while in counseling. You will also have the opportunity to ask me about my experiences and education to assure that we are the best fit. We will also work on identifying your challenges as well as your strengths.
Strengths
My strengths lie in my ability to listen actively, providing a safe and empathetic space for you to express yourself without judgment. I am patient and understanding, which allows me to connect with you on a deeper level and help you navigate complex emotions and challenges. My strong communication skills enable me to offer clear, supportive guidance. My commitment to continuous learning helps me stay informed about best practices and therapeutic techniques to best support your needs. I am dedicated to fostering personal growth and empowering you to make positive, lasting changes in your life.
Ideal clients
I have worked with adults and children aged 5+ in the outpatient and home based therapy setting. I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. I will work with you to identify and obtain new skills to better cope with the stressors of life, while also providing a listening ear for you to process everything. I begin by learning more about you and then as we get to know each other, we can begin to work toward goals.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
We will use approaches such as cognitive reframing, to help you better frame the negative self-talk. We will also work to develop positive coping skills to assist you in better managing your anxiety and depression symptoms.
Interpersonal
I use interpersonal therapy to better understand more about you and your background, as well as where your symptoms are rooted.
Motivational Interviewing
I use motivational interviewing to better understand the barriers to your goals as well as your strengths that will help you overcome those barriers.
