Hi there! My name is Tahara, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in Connecticut and Florida. I'm here to help you navigate the sometimes confusing world of emotions with compassion and understanding. My passion is helping people like you build self-confidence, advocate for themselves, and achieve emotional well-being. Let's work together to help you feel your best!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we'll kick things off by getting to know each other. I'll ask about your background, what brings you in, and what you hope to achieve. It's a chance for you to share your story and for me to understand your goals for therapy. We'll discuss the therapeutic process, confidentiality, and any burning questions you might have. It's pretty laid back, so feel free to be yourself and we'll go from there!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Attachment Theory is the cornerstone of my approach. It helps us understand how early relationships shape our patterns of relating to others throughout life. By delving into your unique attachment style, we can uncover the roots of your challenges and develop strategies to nurture healthier connections. In our work together, we'll not only explore Attachment Theory but also harness the power of effective communication skills. Learning to express your thoughts, feelings, and needs clearly and assertively is key to fostering positive, fulfilling relationships. Through practical techniques and strategies, you'll gain the tools to communicate with confidence.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are working with individuals who are in need of a therapist who will activate their self agency and hold them accountable to the change that they are working towards. My experience in working with populations dealing with traumatic histories has enabled me to have empathy and understanding in the process of healing for these individuals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

My ideal client is someone who is willing to be vulnerable and open to exploring their thoughts and emotions. They are committed to personal growth and are motivated to make positive changes in their life. They value the therapeutic relationship and are willing to actively participate in the therapy process. They are honest and transparent about their experiences, while also being respectful and open-minded towards different perspectives.
